The coach's squeeze.
Jesus.

That was one of the big problems in Houston: Seemed like the defense was in 2nd/short situations throughout the game; and when you give any NFL-level QB too many of those, never mind a dual threat like Watson - who was also sharp as a tack with many of his throws - then you are not going to get off the field until you have given up points...

Our DTs - Guy, Butler, Spence, Davis/Coward - must hold LA to at worst 2nd/6+ when they run between the Tackles on 1st downs.

Hope Cam and this offense score more than 13 points....

That's a hot take. Way to go out on a limb.
LOL My point is as bad as this offense has been the Tom Brady led offense in that Super Bowl was just as bad if not worse. They moved the ball but barely broke double digits. I always think in terms of what number they will need to hit in order to win the game. I'm thinking 24-points might get it done tonite.
Happy Hanukkah, btw.

Game Day!
The ONLY chance we have to win is another dominant performance by the Defense.
I don't think we score over 20 if Cam plays to his norm.
So, we need to ground and pound for ball control, force 2 turnovers (preferably scoring), and limit any big plays to Kupp/Woods.

Great running teams run the ball anyways. The Pats are not there yet, but getting closer. Would help if they had a great blocking TE. Newton adds variety to rushing attack. Wonder if will see some 6 OL plays.

Since the TE is not particularly useful as a receiver, I wonder why they don’t use another OL more often? I have not evaluated how they have done with it.

It also matters what "more men in the box" means. Extra safeties or DBs in the box is no big deal - keep running. If 8 men in the box are all DLinemen and LBs, it is a lot different - harder to run, and easier for the slot guy and RB to get open with play action. As always, context matters. Recently the Pats have been seeing 8 Dlinemen and LBs in the box. I assume it is the same for the Titans.

Anticipating this game is almost like a playoff game for me, getting that little feeling in my tummy. Maybe cuz it essentially may be lose and go home if these other teams don’t start losing.

Izzo to IR and Asiasi off IR, so I guess we're going to see a lot of one or both of the rookies tonight.

Well something’s gotta give tonight. Rams are 3rd at stopping the run and we are 3rd when it comes to rushing the football. Can they establish a running game against this team? Got a feeling they will need the wideouts to step up tonight.
