On to Miami .. PRACTICE news

Forgive me if this has been mentioned already - I haven't gone through the thread yet.

Reiss later tweeted that he thinks MM will sit vs. MIA and then be available during the playoffs. Nearly 3 weeks to heal up!

By all means if he needs the rest then so be it.

Might be a good opportunity to see where Michael Floyd is at.

Good news on Amendola. If he can get a good week of practice in after the bye, he'll be ready to contribute. He's been clutch at finding the open spot in the post-season.

So, no new injuries in Phins game and the Offense arsenal should be well re-stocked for first play-off game with Amendola good to go and Mitchell healed up by then also.

Keep Amendola and Mitchell out and maybe limit Edelman's reps and see what they have in Floyd. Sounds good to me.

They have been limiting JE11s workload to roughly 50-60% of the snaps so I expect that to continue.

I'd love to see them target Lengel a bunch of times just so the upcoming divisional opponent has the "22" grouping to worry about again.

Keep seeing whispers of a mild MCL sprain for Mitchell on other boards but none of the beat guys report anything even close to that so take it with a grain of salt.

I'll be at the game in Miami.........

Apparently Miami made the fieldgoal at the end of regulation against Buffalo with a QB ball and not a kicker ball as there wasn't enough time to exchange balls.

Is that even allowed ? Shouldn't that cause some kind of penalty (with 10 second run off inside 2min) ?

I am just curious mostly because the reasoning of "they just had no time" should be irrelevant in a league where other teams like the Bills get a delay of game penalty because the refs are still blocking the snap even though the play clock is about to expire.

Woof!!

Dolphins defense limping into regular season finale

Via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins will be without five starters on defense and 75 percent of their planned secondary when they face the Patriots again.

Cornerback Byron Maxwell is expected to miss his second straight game with an ankle injury, making him the latest to miss time. Both their starting safeties are on IR now (Reshad Jones and Isa Abdul-Quddus, along with linebacker Koa Misi), and linebacker Jelani Jenkins isn’t expected back this week with his knee injury.

I'm pretty sure it is allowed.

There's a distinction between balls mostly because QB balls are prepped for throwing and catching, while Kicking ball are prepped for, you guessed it, kicking. Also, kicking ball can damage them, making them harder to throw/catch.

There is not rule that demands them to be the same, they only need to be within regulation that we all know Goddell cares so damn much
