Did Mitchell finish the game on Saturday? I don't recall either way.

I didn't know he was the only WR we had....did Edelman, Hogan etc get tied up, gagged and tossed in a closet in the last 24 hours?

WTF are you talking about? I can't ask if he finished the game? Infer much...?

Oops, I meant to reply to @Bradyking12 ....my bad. Dipped in the eggnog bowl too much today.

It's all gûd! Sorry for jumping back at ya!

Ahh... makeup sex. LOL

They've rested key players in Week 17 plenty of times. I suspect they'll do it again this weekend. The only one who really has to worry about "rust" is Brady which is why I suspect he'll want to play. And, again, they don't have the depth necessary to sit the entire OL so he'll still have his guys in pass protection.

Would really like to see Brady pass Marino in passing yards in Miami.

After that, just treat it like a scrimmage game for all I care.

Felger thinks the Pats were over confident and made poor choices last season down the stretch.. Felger this is to you, it had nothing to do with the Pats being over confident.. if you look at last season and all the injuries they had across the board, Belichick coached and game planned to keep the remaining roster healthy or at least the best chance to remain healthy. They lost there Running backs, O linemen, Wide Receivers and Gronk was banged up.. the Pats were not over confident they got hit hard by the Injury bug and I think Belichick knew if he lost a few more players they were not going to compete for the Super Bowl. He managed the Roster the best he could down the stretch.. I mean the Miami game was blatantly bad.. and in all my years I have never seen the Pats play like that but I think he was protecting his players.

Both starting safeties are on IR since the Pats last saw them. Look for the Patriots to test them up the seams in this one. This is a great spot for Hogan and Bennett to have 5+ reception games, and for Edelman and Brady to work on hitch and go routes that haven't been consistent, but exploit the transition from a corner to a safety.

LB Koa Misi is on IR as well. He had a good game with 9 tackles in September.

It would be nice to jump out to an early lead against these guys and put pressure on Moore.

Those who need the rest will get it, those who don't will play to win. This is very different to last year, when our injuries were reminiscent of the first day of the Somme.

Good to hear about Lewis and Brady. I doubt Mitchell plays on Sunday. Floyd will probably see his playing time go up

What happened to Mitchell? Did he get hurt during the game? I didn't notice...

Silver lining there. It would be nice to see what the Pats have in Floyd before the postseason.

Hoping Cyrus Jones is good to go too.

I was a bit surprised that BB had him back fielding punts; thought they might put that on a back burner until next season since it appeared that Jones was over thinking and psyching himself out.

BB may want to keep him working through his issue, and thinks he is mentally tough enough to handle it.

It would really be useful if he could become a dependable kick returner, but even in the best circumstances, we'll still be holding our breath on his opportunities; kind of like when Ghost was struggling earlier.

I was surprised but not surprised. I had read that fielding kicks and punts in practice have not been a problem with him. They've put him through the meat grinder and hes done everything the coaching staff has asked of him which is why BB has given him such a long leash.

Unless its 39-0 with 3 minutes to go I would not expect him to field kicks in a playoff game.

I completely agree and hate when I hear the media talk about this game like they have no idea how bad the injury bug hit the team. They were pulling offensive lineman off the street to play! Injuries are the majority of the reason why the Pats lost 4 out of their last 6 regular season games. I've never seen more offensive line combinations than the million they put on the field last season.

Re: Deion Branch 2002. In his last 6 regular season games he had only 6 catches for 81 yards and 0 TDs

In MMs last 6 games he has 25 catches for 306yds and 4 TDs.

Deion missed the last 3 games due to a knee injury but I suspect he hurt it well before that as he was on a pace for a 100 catch/1000yd season.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned already - I haven't gone through the thread yet.

Reiss later tweeted that he thinks MM will sit vs. MIA and then be available during the playoffs. Nearly 3 weeks to heal up!

The beauty of the bye week....

I honestly can't think of any. I think even Houston and Miami would beat them by at least a touchdown.

Yikes - uhh... maybe? Houston is le stink.

Since their week 9 bye:
W 24-21 @ Jax
L 20-27 @ Oak
L 13-21 vs. SD
L 13-21 @ GB
W 22-17 @ Ind.
W 21-20 vs. Jax
W 12-10 vs. Cin

Houston can barely score points. Whatever Oakland can/can't do without Carr, hard to believe their offensive output at home will be much worse than what the Texans can put out there.

Still kind of a moot point since it's very likely KC will smash the hell out of Houston in Houston during the wildcard round.
