OLine's 2-4 Record Crappiness Stabilized, 7 wins in a row now

Curious how you feel about Trent. He's been a durable Superbowl champ at LT and in many other seasons an injury prone underwhelming RT on multiple teams....

.
I have to confess my amateur opinion on o-line play is worthless. I only played one year of football due to a knee issue (but 5 sacks in one game at DE against the city champs!). But playing hockey (much easier on the knees) for 17 years on D I know my angle of attack when checking was critical. I would routinely lay punishing hits going right to left but was near useless going the other way. I always assumed football players would have similar preferences.

Yeah I hear you. It's interesting if we have evidence Trent Brown is a durable Superbowl-winning left tackle, and also evidence that 4+ different times on different teams he's been an injury-prone mediocre right tackle, it would stand to reason that.... Trent Brown is a right tackle according to this OLine coach and this OC.

Look at Mac running for his life all game. Absolutely zero pass protection.

The crazy thing is that, even as bad as the pass pro is, Mac is still throwing very catchable balls. They need to get a lot better, though, or he’s going to end up like David Carr.

It is a combination of inadequate pass protection and inadequate receivers.

the key is Jones has to stop trying to please those that want a down field passing game, not holding the ball and taking what the defense gives him.

Agree Mac should keep completing passes and move the chains. Ignore the naysayers who want to go 2 for 10 deep and take bad hits due to a bad Oline

Not sure how you got that. He listens to the media and now is throwing down the field passes? Maybe the defense is taking the checkdowns away

The accuracy seems fine, the timing seems off, like they are late getting there.

I am pretty sure he is not listening to the media and making up his own mind to do something. If he is, Bill needs to spank him on his ass.

Well it seems like someone told Mac stop throwing these 6 yard passes, go deep even though your OLine sucks.

Was Thuney that big of a loss that the line just fell apart? I know hes a great player but I did not expect the line to be such a weak point in the offense. I hope Brown potentially coming back this week makes a significant impact.

Take it for what it's worth...today BB said that the OL wasn't as bad as he thought....51 pass attempts vs. 11 total pressures....

I'll have to see Trent Brown in the line up before I pass judgement...still early in the season....

Maybe his coach did. As I said, if he is doing what the media says, he has some issues.

I also think the OLine coach is not good. Look at some simple defensive stunts totally defeating the OLIne. Some of these are basic communication problems.

Upon further review, the Oline issues are 50/50. It's partly on Mac too. Evan Lazar has a great breakdown, Mac isn't staying inside the pocket all the time. He's dropping too far back, or stepping up to high into the pocket and creating pressure on himself in some instances. So part of this is going to be Mac learning better pocket awareness. Once that happens, he'll be in a better position to see the open receivers down the field.

Well golly shucks. I said that...Where is the guy that hates McDaniels at?

We've known this though? Just like "there's no one open" is bs.
