Not sure how much Mack will help our run defense...He's short with short arms and fancies himself a gap penetrator first...Nice athlete though...
He's already 24 so there's zero growth potential...The guy we needed to help vs the run (besides the wastrel Fat Thor) was Carl Davis, but the dude
just doesn't want to play pro ball badly enough...

I do agree about Kendricks & Beasley...
Beasley is a one trick pony who has lost his one trick

The Patriots are signing veteran WR Donte Moncrief to their practice squad, per source.

William Thim

@mammal365

He couldn't even catch Covid if he wanted to

But rather true.

Damn, damn, damn..

I would've preferred Pettis over Ford too....He could've been part of the WR re-build...

Having both would've been best-case, but I would've made acquiring Pettis my top priority...

Bill should've realized the possibility of the Vagiants' claiming somebody at that position too...

It's amazing how you always ASSUME Bill didn't try to do something. Did you ever stop to think that MAYBE the 49ers wanted more for Pettis than the Pats (or anyone) were willing to offer? Did you stop to think that maybe Bill didn't want to repeat paying too much for a WR? NOPE. You just assume Bill didn't even try.

But then. That's why you aren't a GM in the NFL and Bill had 6 rings along with 9 Trips to the SB.

Yes they decided to release him for nothing rather than take what the Patriots were hypothetically willing to offer. Do you think before you post?

Just a friendly reminder that there was a reason Pettis was waived and available.

What a fall from grace for Pettis. A once-promising rookie season was cut short due to injury, and he was never the same since. Pettis came into 2019’s training camp overweight, per general manager John Lynch.

With that said, Pettis never gave Kyle a reason to trust him. Whether it was lolly-gagging on routes, missing blocks, or playing timid over the middle. Shanahan never had a reason outside of injuries to give Dante more opportunities.

Is it about time we sign a TE or two to the practice squad?

Too lanky for FB...Strictly an off-line/Move TE...Still better than anyone we currently have...
Considering that it’s looking like we don’t have anyone, you’re absolutely right.
