Their offense vs our offense

Current offense no question. I think (at least I hope lol) we make up some ground once the drafts over.

Texans continue downgrading players while not saving any money and losing draft picks. It’s a proven winning formula.

Rams reportedly trade Brandin Cooks to Texans | Boston.com

Edit: They sent the 2nd round pick they got for Hopkins. Rather than giving a all-pro a raise, they figured they spend the same money on an overpaid, overrated wideout that three teams have now traded.

According to PFT Texans keeping AZ's #40th pick and sending Rams their #57 pick for Cooks.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That's a good deal for the Texans given their WR situation. Cooks is solid situational #3 receiver plus a 4th round pick gets them a player who may contribute right away.

Cooks is only $8M against the cap in 2020 with 2021 as a team option at no dead cap money. Not a bad move at all. Cobb, Fuller, Cooks, Stills and a pretty good TE group is a nice of options for Watson.

The Texans have no draft picks and Cooks adds very little that Fuller and Stills don't already provide. Cooks was a #3 receiver on the Rams; in this group he's going to need to be the #1. In isolation, it's fine - Cooks is better than Sanu, though the Patriots paid a premium for desperation - but it's just apocalyptically bad once you consider the context of the Hopkins trade. They essentially turned DeAndre Hopkins into Brandin Cooks and David Johnson, and didn't actually save any money because Johnson is obscenely overpaid.

That city would be electric with Brady and Gronk on the field.
They can pay a premium for that and I think they would.

I can see Edelman going to Tamps before Gronk un-retiring. Why JE? We need $8 MM just to sign our Draft picks. Here are the ways to do that:
1-Re-do Thuney, but that is still not enough
2-Trade Gilmore? Defensive Players of the year don't move in trades. Some have estimated only a 2nd or 3rd Rounder? The Pats might be nuts to do that. Offense coaches still have to game plan for him
3-Cut Sanu? Too much ego involved with the loss of a 2nd Rounder
4-Trade Edleman? In a Draft where there are about 25 potential staring WR in this class and JE is 33 with a little cash cache left, IMO we have to consider that.....Like Thuney, not enough to cover our Draft alone (Maybe Thuney and trade JE?)
5-Plan 5 IMO is the best way to flow. Throw darts at this as you will. Tar and feather is too much.
I am Trading Donta Hightower .........Blasphemy!!! and he is our best and only remaining LB PLUS. he made the Pro-Bowl! you say? Remember Lawyer Miloy. They did not know what the had in Harrison. Most thought he was done. Miloy was the guy...but it had to do with $$$$.
Hightower is a 30ish really good linebacker who costs $9.5mm just as it looks like the Pats might be trending young and speed. You can grab a kid like Darron Lee(25) in FA who did not fit with K.C. but had 4.9 speed and in 2018 rated top three LB in coverage ....until a Draft pick might be better and develop. He was Ohio State...I am sure buddy Urban Meyer can give BB the 411.
Now you have room.
What's the Trade you say Cousins?
Where talking catuchees here.......
I am trading Hightower, our pick #23 and our pick #100 in the third. Plus a second in 2021 for the NY Giants pick #4.
The numbers are 1800 for the Giants in the Chart
The Pats numbers would be 860 in points this year, about 420 est for the pick next year. So that leaves about 520 or the equivalent of a second rounder (a few picks up from Sanu).
Judge gets to change the culture of the Giants with a roster spot he needs.
The Pats get to choose a QB at pick #4 and reduce CAP number.
The Pats can still get a LB and TE in round 3.
Plus I am trading Edelman to Tampa to get a good WR say their pick #117.
CAP is served and so is youth.
Thoughts?

P.S. Chung played a lot of LB last year.....just sayin.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Watson is not a Super Bowl caliber QB. Dude is just good enough to get to the post season and choke in the big game. Id rather stick with Stidham good and bad while still searching for a QB in the draft and off the street. Watson is a used car.

It take a special level of talent in analysis to believe that Stidham is better than Watson. If available, I suspect that Belichick would give at least a first for Watson.

1-Re-do Thuney, but that is still not enough

1. We don't need $8M of cap room to sign our draft picks.

2. Extending Thuney is more than enough to cover expenses through the end of the year, other then picking up new free agents.

I don’t believe for a second Watson is available

This is not true and makes the rest of your post immediately pointless.

I think the real point of that post was for him to float the idea of trading Hightower for the 5th time this offseason.

Houston was NOT a Super Bowl contender.

What a joke. Go back to your mock draft room.

There are a lot of clueless posters here but you're definitely at the bottom of the stupid list.
Falling for a troll account?
Remember when you thought Dom Easley had healthy knees?
Danny Shelton was going to be in Wilfork's level?

Your post routinely show how little you know about the game which is sad considering you spend so much time here.

Definitely one of the worst posters here.

There's a lot of posters I can't stand on a personal level but don't put on ignore because they make valuable contributions to football discussions. This is not one of those posters.

I stand corrected $3mm. But i have added a LB and I have another player in mind so about $8mm.
I stand corrected.

The open issue is what transaction will choose before the draft to free up $3M or so.
