With all due respect to Pherein (my favorite non-Pats fan poster) let's hope New Orleans has a very disappointing year.

I would, but you know they'll just trade that pick away in a scenario that is unimaginable.

Sure, but I'll still root against the Saints in hopes that the Pats end up with a 2012 2nd, 3rd & 4th + a 2013 2nd.

Please refresh the memory on what pick is at stake here. Thanks.

I like both these teams - should be a fantastic game.

Go Pack!

The Saints are a playoff team unfortunately. I wouldn't be surprised if both of the Patriots' picks are right next to each other

NO's 1st!

We gave 'em #28 in the first for their #56th in the second and 2012 1st.

I have a hard time seeing NO end up less than 11-5, and that is thinking that they will most likely lose tonight! They play the AFC South (maybe wihout Manning) and the NFC Norris (Lions, Packers, Vikes and Bears (oh my)). There own division is pretty stout (except for the Panthers) but still, they are a pretty good team. I think the best we can hope for is a 10-6 and miss the playoffs.

I don't know how many times I have to write this on this board before people get it: The Patriots under Belichick have never failed to use a top 20 pick, and both times they've had a pick in the top 10 they've used it in the top 10 with OUTSTANDING results (Seymour/Mayo).

They trade back at the end of the first, when the talent gets a little more muddled.

oh yeah.

Hard to shout against the Saints but their first is our first.

so. Go cheeseheads

Don't really like either team but probably rooting for the saints because I want to see the champs lose the opener for once. Plus that pick is probably getting traded unless it's top ten lol.

I believe since they started the Thursday night opener playing @ the home stadium of the defending champ the SB champ has won every game. Road team is due and I believe the Saints win a close one.

why ?? I always like Brees.

OTOH Bill will not use the first round pick and trade it for a boat load of future picks

There is only one super star 12 and that is only TFB.. GO SAINTS ...:rocker:

Same here!!

I'm cheering for Green Bay, but that's only because I have their D on my fantasy football team. LOL - flame away. I'm just excited to see a game. I always like seeing two other good teams play (other than the Pats) because I have no emotional stake in it and can appreciate good plays on either side. So excited for the start of the season!!

It's going to be an end of the round pick unless Brees gets hurt, and let's not wish for that.

We pretty much got a free second round pick out of the deal, it's already a steal in my book.

Hey -- after tonight we could have the first pick in the 2012 draft! :singing:

I will be praying for snow and singing a song about cheese

Trades or not, every extra spot counts! Think of how having the #22 let them inch down twice to #27, picking up Aaron Hernandez and Taylor Price in the process.

But...the Saints are good, and likable to boot.

DUDE. :ugh:

You DO realize that even if Coach Bill the Mad DOES trade the Pick, the difference in just a few spots can be enough to pick us up, say, Aaron Hernandez?? :beatingcoming:

Go, Packers!! :eat2:

*I see that Sister Pat already made exactly that point...But I'll leave this up, due to the violent and graphic nature of the content!!
