Holland would be icing on the cake. Jackson, Odighizuwa, Little, and Baun would be my targets the second negotiations can start. I’m hoping that Vrabel is the one reaching out to each of their agents and the players, as I think he’s got the most cache with them, and they would recognize how serious the Patriots are about signing them and building a contender. Then let Wolf, Cowden, and Groh make the deals. With 135 million to spend they can definitely get these deals, and a few more done.
If they could get these deals done it would free them up for the draft. There they could go a number of different ways. BPA for any of the top 3 player ( Hunter, Graham, or Carter), or drop down, take Warren, then trade back into the first for a guy like Luther Burden. They will have all sorts of options, but will be dealing from a position of strength instead of desperation.
As much as many here hated it people are going to end up being happy Wolf stayed out of last year’s free agent market, and gave them 135 million plus to go after free agents this year, with next to nothing needing to be done with their own free agents. And if I’m not mistaken that number is going to go up when the league announces the 25’ cap number.
