Do they plan to move him to Free Safety?

Because we need a #1 FS a helluva lot more than we need a Very expensive #2 CB.
If we had two lockdown corners then playing 2 strong safeties back there isn't as bad. I'll still take a FS but in this day and age of playing so much nickel I like having the 2 Strong Safeties as it helps in the run game. DMac was great in run support most FS aren't.

I think with a better corner and more importantly a better pass rush that Dugger and Peppers can get back to being a force on the back end.

Sign Jevon Holland, Carlton Davis and Justin Reid. Make Dugger a full time LB. Trade Peppers. Re-sign Jon Jones to play the slot even though he wasn't great last year but that should make him fairly cheap and he's a culture guy.

Massive infusion of coverage ability that should enable more creative scheming up front. Can use more blitzes and stunts with that type of coverage ability in the secondary.

There are actually true field safeties in the draft that can really play, too.

I think the Pats really don't want to do draft pick + new contract compensation.
It depends I think Tee Higgins would be a different story. A Player that would be with Maye for a while Hmmmmm.

I thought there has been some encouraging reports on him working out for next year already.

I'm pulling for the dude, but he & Williams play the same position (3-Tech) so that would be both expensive and redundant.

Patriots would for AJ

If still offer a mid pick for Pickens, If Vrab feels froggy.
You guys are playing with my emotions.

Cap Davis probably wouldn't be as expensive.. he's a mid-tier CB.. good though.. I'm thinking 3 years 27 Milly..

Yes I believe FS definitely needs to be addressed. We need that guy... so peppers can go back to punishing RBs and WRs across the middle up near the LOS...
The Athletic suggested $19M per year for Davis in an article yesterday
