I don’t know, alot of the concerns from preseason to me has carried over into the first couple weeks with jacoby. The wr’s aren’t going to be utilized much and the diwnfield game is non existent. Whereas with maye they were getting much more involved and you saw some chunk plays, one to polk and one deep one baker shouldve hauled in. I just feel like itll help alot more long term with Maye being in.
I agree with you that brisett and the offense in general isnt as bad as we thought theyd be and we can maybe buy maye some more time. Looking around the afc especially theres some BAD offenses and teams with similar or worse issues. At least we can run the ball
A 3 step drop is just going to mean more people in his face a whole lot quicker. The interior line which is supposed to be a strength got blown up multiple times yesterday. You are right though, they have to find a way to get rid of the ball faster. It’s going to be easier said than done with the box constantly being loaded. Gonna have to take some shots downfield to loosen it up or those slants lanes wont be there without getting a guy murdered.I understand what you are seeing. If I don't say that, the responses will be, "Are we watching the same game?".
What I wish we were seeing is a 3 step drop and a quick release from our QB. Don't think I saw one 3 step drop in the whole game.
How about more than 2 passes to the WRs? Douglas can't run a slant for a quick release pass? Douglas has zero catches through two games. Douglas is a bust in year two or is there something wrong with our QB?
We tried one screen pass all game? If the pass rush is so fierce, where are the screen passes?
The OL pass blocking leaves a lot to be desired. Having said that, Brissett is extremely limited with only one approach. Drop back, wait for 3 seconds, dodge pass rushers, and scramble right. Too bad our offensive play book is so limited.
There are lots of ways to help the OL in passing situations, but we can't seem to do any of them. Is it Brissett or AVP?
His anticipation is bad for a vet.Agree 100% but those have nothing to do with arm strength.
His arm strength is fine.
What I noticed about Maye in the pre season was that at least he was willing to throw to WRs even though they weren't completely open. All game yesterday Geno threw to his receivers even when defenders were draped all over them. He gave them a chance, at the very least a possible PI call.
Brissett just doesn't do any of that.
Look at this play by Darnold and the Vikings. Small window but he was able to anticipate and throw to an area. I've never seen Brissett have this type of timing with his receivers when he was with the Colts or that stint with the Browns.

Yes. When Bentley went out the communication took a hit. Hard for me to ever blame the defense. It took Seattle to overtime to beat us. No Barmore no Bentley. Still had 3 sacks and pressure on Smith all game. The reffs did help bail Seattle out as well. However that's expected these days.Yep. Seattle has a really good set of receivers, so it's not surprising they made their share of plays. I still think the db's are a strength.
And that's exactly what happened. Oh marco wilson is covering him.. completion or a PI..Exactly Brissette at QB is like a Team going in the Prevent Defense preventing themselves from winning.
What started to erode was the coaching and the coaching just fell on deaf ears by last season. I don't think coaching is an issue at all this season. Peter's can only coach up untalented players so much. Even scarr would have Trouble with this collection of tackles.. Lowe is a 6th round, practically a PS player asking to be a starter in the NFL. Wallace is a rookie, and likely better off letting him at least learn and take his lumps. Your right alot of players we re-signed were part of the previous regime. Not long, which is why they have to stay on schedule and away from passing situations. Third and longs and down by 2-3 scores is just going to get Brissett killed.
I really believe they will be a scheme type offense as opposed to a "this is what we do" type of offense. The previous regime did a lot right here, and I don't think they'll flush it all away because it ended badly.

The WR's had 19 yards yesterday. As a group. In the National Football League. What happened to Pop Douglas? 38 snaps (58%) and I don't recall hearing his name once.
I think baker would have made a difference yesterday. His type of speed with quick head fakes and quick change of direction is more difficult for a DB to handle than just Tyquan running straight ahead. Short week.. I'd like for baker to see the field. What is KJ or Tyquan doing so great that baker can't get in on some snaps.Yep, that sideline throw to baker where baker got manhandled comes to mind. The ball was right where it needed to be for javon to have a chance but he didn’t make the play. It seems like drake and polk could be a nice combo with polk’s catch radius. Baker as well if he ever gets his stuff together.
Yes! Just pathetic. Coach mentioned that and said it was unacceptable.. said the passing game is going to have to show up.The WR's had 19 yards yesterday. As a group. In the National Football League.
It ain't showing with you know it's still on a milk carton.Yes! Just pathetic. Coach mentioned that and said it was unacceptable.. said the passing game is going to have to show up.

The whole Tyquan thing is just baffling. Is it just that the o-line never gives enough time for a deep ball? Or is Tyquan just not built for the game? They must see something in practice: they keep putting him out there. I don't get it. If he's out there, design a couple plays for him, or sit him, or something.I think baker would have made a difference yesterday. I threw up in mouth but we need both Sow and Strange back.
Seattle secondary is good they are boundary CBs not guys like Marcus who are good in short space.. pop could have excelled with better QB play.. I keep hearing them say no separation NO WR is running 2, 3 yards away from a defender in the NFL. The DBs are just as fast as WRS these days. Somehow Drake can hit covered guys but Jacoby can't.I really don’t think it matters whos in there at wr if Jacoby is the qb. Reiss mentioned there was not much seperation from wr’s yesterday but im waiting to hear more analysis. Its hard to believe someone like pop douglas wouldn’t have gotten open a few times at least. But Seattles secondary is pretty damn good, tbh its kinda crazy we even scored 20 without forcing any turnovers or big st plays.
