OFFICIAL Saturday 1/4/2014 Wild Card games thread

And the curse of the Richard Sherman Smartest QB list continues. Six picks so far in six quarters of football.

Can't wait for the Broncos game to see what the smartest has to offer!

Still annoys me that the Giants did this in the two Super Bowls and got away with it.

Gronk has suffered a freak injury every season.

Not every season. He has missed games in 2 seasons, and played 2 full ones. I wouldn't be concerned yet.

And freak injuries are different than being prone to injuries. How do you stop freak accidents, know the future??

So, it's either the Bengals or Colts for the Pats next weekend. I, for one, am glad the Colts won. I think the Pats match up better against them than they do against the Chiefs. I wouldn't mind facing the Bengals again.

the combined IQ of philly fans wouldnt be enouph to buy coffee at 7-11.

Im not sure about that. Durability is a part of greatness. E.Smith is considered one of the best Only because of his durability and long career. Hes not better than Sanders, but beats most of his records.

Sanders was pretty durable, don't think he ever missed a game.

Is gronk more injury prone than amendola? The same receiver everyone put down for playing hurt.

Timing is important. I think the concern is heightened because this is the third post-season in which his health might be a factor. A healthy Gronk would have made a big difference in SB46 and last year's AFCCG. Brady could very easily have had a handful of rings with a healthy Gronk. The impact this year is yet to be seen, but certainly, and for the third post-season in a row, the Patriots' odds would be much better with him.

a pass rush on that drive would have helped the Saints.

Anyone but him.

Same throw that someone else didn't catch.

Gronk is amazing, but he's starting to give me the same vibe nomar garciaparra used to.

Gronk is the patriots version of nomar garciaparra...great talent that can never finish the season healthy.

The Pats may have to consider selecting another tightend early in the draft.
He that shall not be named is not coming back and who knows when Gronk will be ready to play again? They need help at the tightend position. It feels like it's back to the drawing board at the tightend position, IMO.

Is any media member going to cry about Brees working the officials just now?

I'll bet money that you will not hear a single complaint. I wonder if Rodney will have something to say about that. Didn't he call Brady out once for complaining when a defender went after his leg?
