OFFICIAL Saturday 1/4/2014 Wild Card games thread

Disagree.
Luck is super smart and clutch.
It's just that he's really young. Is this his first playoff game? He was flawless in the 2nd half.

Yea I can agree that he'll eventually grow out of that. But he's exciting to watch, that's for sure.

Luck is one of the few young QB's I can see having the ability to have an elite career.

No question in my mind that they played and coached games to purposely Suck for Luck. The fan base should be ashamed. Every time I see Luck in a Colt helmet, the first thing I think of is the real reason why he is there. League should have reviewed all of their game film before allowing that crap to take place that we all had to witness.

You don't know what you're talking about. They lost 3 games in a row by 3 points, 7 points (both prime time) and 4 points after leading by 17.

Professional Football players have pride. I photographed 6 Indy games that year and not once did I see them not try. Play poorly yes. Tank purposely, no.

Bret favre was the definition of clutch....He was just a risk taker and paid for it.

Luck also benefited from all the chiefs injuries.

Gronk would have shed that tackle

Graham fumbled it

Graham should have protected the ball better on that play.

I am enjoying this game.

The cognitive dissonance is strong with this one.

Gronk would have protected the football. When Gronk is being tackled, he has both arms wrapped around that ball.

This game — and seeing Brees in Foxboro and Jersey this fall — reminds me of this from Peter King a few years ago":

(reader question to King): AN MVP TAKE FROM CHEESELAND. "Regarding the MVP race, if you adjust for the number of attempts Brees has versus Rodgers, Aaron's numbers through 583 attempts (Brees through game 14) would look like this: 5392 yards, 52 touchdowns, seven interceptions. By the end of the season, Brees will have played, by attempts, the equivalent of three-plus games over Rodgers, which speaks to the remarkable efficiency of the Green Bay offense, specifically Rodgers, when looking at scoring offense. Additionally, Brees will have played 11 dome games versus Rodgers' three. Furthermore, the only game Brees played that could be considered poor weather is in Tennessee. Last note, Marino set the record in 564 attempts.''
-- Josh, of Milwaukee

(King response): All interesting points. The number of throws is reflected most accurately in yards per attempt, a great and far underutilized stat. Rodgers is almost lapping the field this year, with 9.25 yards per attempt. Brees' is 8.18. That shows, obviously, Rodgers has done more than anyone with efficiency and downfield productivity. As far as domes go, you play where you play. Just as I wouldn't penalize a dome punter if he was far superior to an outdoor one, I won't penalize Brees for playing indoors.

So absurd. You simply cannot ignore the many ways that playing most of your games in a dome will inflate a QB's stats. Brees is an excellent QB to be sure, but the dome does help his numbers. A lot.

Benjamin Watson checking in.

Good ole Ben Watson

graham is great...but man there is no question who you want when both are 100% healthy...such an easy choice.

damn Watson has been in the league for 10 years? Wow, where has the time gone?

jesus not the Field vs Dome debate again.

The problem is gronk never is healthy. You can't rely on gronk during the season.

Man I miss gronk. Could the guy get anymore bad luck with his injuries. Hope he comes back next year and catches 25 TD passes and 3 in the SB.

or he would have got injured.......................i kid i kid
