OK...all offseason the argument has been..."Cam should start the first four/five games...Mac won't be ready, won't be able to take the pounding of a full season..." OK...that's bullshyt. Mac is playing a lot right now and showing the tenacity and bounce back of a seasoned veteran. Go with the kid NOW IMO. He's not going to get beat down or lose his confidence or any of that other Sam Darnold crapola rationalizations. Mac was drafted to be the QB, now he needs to START the season as the Pats #1 QB. We don't need Cam's running ability, we got that covered with these explosive rookies. NOW is the time for Mac.

O- line is a strength. That’s a big plus for a rookie and a running game. The kid already has a feel for the patriots system.

The offense has been built ideally for a rookie.
