Pats 6 point road favorites.

This game is as trap as games get, and it’s on the road. I will be very impressed if they can win convincingly here like they did yesterday.

Classic setup for a let down coming off of a gigantic win, anticipating a showdown next week, and having a short week. Thrusday games are usually sloppy. Have faith BB will have them ready though , and a win would set up a huge battle with Tennessee.

I would put this difficulty around the same as the Panthers game, but instead of a good defense and crap qb we are facing a good QB and crap defense (2nd worse in PPG). They were building some momentum , but that was struck down pretty good yesterday lol This is one we have to win with TEN , IND, and BUF 2x on the horizon.

Am I the only one having playoff game type jitters every week now? I am having trouble sleeping saturday nights

Agreed. They need to go in with the mentality that they won't destroy the Falcons. Otherwise it might be a very long game.

Just posted this in Ken's thread, but I'll repeat here. Since TNF became a regular part of the schedule, the Patriots are 7-1 in those games (not including season openers after SB wins, only the games on short rest). This speaks to Belichick's ability to gameplan and prepare a team efficiently compared to most NFL head coaches. The one loss was last year at the Rams, which was a west coast game against a great team with a 2020 roster that was pretty limited.

Good test for Mac with his first game on short rest. I'm excited to see how he responds.

I like having a mini-bye before our game with Tennessee. Then again, Tennesse is playing the Texans this Sunday so that is going to feel like a bye for them too.

Yeah, unfortunately Houston's not only losing every week, they have not been very competitive in any game since ours.

Trivia question: there are 10 members of the current Patriots active 53 man roster who were part of Super Bowl 51. Name them without looking them up.

Hint - James White is excluded since he’s on IR, Jamie Collins is also excluded since he’s on IR and wasn’t actually on the team by the time that game happened.

I think the odds are that NEP coaching staff will have the Pats in a far better place mentally than will the Atlanta coaching staff. The Falcons have almost no time to shake off the confidence crushing defeat they just endured. A team generally needs several days to get back to believing good things about themselves.

I actually think the mental edge goes to the Pats in this one, even on the road.

The falcons are bad. Worse ppg differential than the jaguars bad. They can’t run the ball & their passing offense isn’t going anywhere without Ridley.

The defense should have a field day & offensively it is a good game to grow confidence. As long as they are prepared it should be a comfortable win IMO.

Do Wynn and Jonathon Jones count? Wynn was IR'd in 2018 iirc and Jones IR'd now

HT, DMC, JCJ, Mason, Trent, Karras, Andrews, Van Noy, Guy, Slater, Wise

This team, while ascending, was making frustrating mistakes early in the year. It cost them. I hope that while they are going well atm, that a short week doesn't allow mental mistakes to creep back in...
