How many dropped passes and stupid fumbles cost the Pats games? You're acting like the Pats played perfect football and still lost. They had a lot of shooting themselves in the foot moments too. It evens out
I agree. That's what I was saying. All that matters is what's on the scoreboard

I do not disagree with any of your points just wanted to remind you of your prediction in 2018 after a certain Steelers game. How the team is playing now has nothing to do with how they would play, hopefully, in the playoffs. I am of mind to wait and see if BB can get them in and then at that point anything can happen for 2-4 games. That’s what makes the NFL better IMO then the MLB or NBA it’s less predictable and all about talent. One bounce of a ball can change an entire season.
That was one of my finest L’s!

CMc is a probably a week out, which makes this offense a lot easier to defend.

Darnold at practice today for CAR but limited. Looks like he might be coming out of the protocol and chance he could play on Sunday.
He was “extremely” limited and only participated in the walkthrough portion of practice. Still think it’s unlikely he will play.

How much of that is the ability of the team or the fact that it's a rookie QB with almost an entirely knew offensive unit learning the Pats Offensive system, which is the most complex in the league?

I think it's more a learning curve than talent level.

History has shown that to be inaccurate. Which skill position players in the BB era busted here and went on to find success elsewhere? It’s a talent issue. Oddly enough, the rookie QB has been the least of the offense’s issues. So that’s why there’s hope.

You expect them to be a top 10 scoring offense out of the gate with all of that?

Where did I say that?

We are seeing this team come together and I think they have a good enough team for a playoff run. Especially as they coalesce into the back half of the season

I hope you’re right. I don’t think we are on the level of the Bills and Ravens at this point, though. I’d love to be wrong, of course.

What matters is a team with a rookie QB hung with the best teams in the league and were in a position to win when the team wasn't playing their best football. They are miles ahead of where they were when they played Tampa

Patriots only favored by 3.5

What am I missing here?

I see another Chargers-style game on the road against a Carolina team with a good offensive line that will test the Patriots front seven. They gashed the Falcons for 203 yards on the ground without McCaffrey
I don't see the Patriots going with only two DL like they did vs the Chargers a lot of the time making the Chargers running attack look better than it probably is. They'll be heavier and make the QB beat them I'd wager.

Add 3 because it's a road game. On a neutral field they like the Pats by 5, and in Gillette it would 6.5. Considering both teams are 4-4, that's a decent endorsement I think.

Yes, seems fair. Let's be realistic, the Pats are not a powerhouse team as of now. They seem "good."

Who is going to this game? I am going, and psyched!!! I've lived in Durham NC for almost 20 years now, and go to the games when the Patriots come down here.

I hope it's ok if I post some of the stuff being put on by the NC Patriots fan club. They are doing a couple of events for those interested (not free). Note I'm just a member, not making any money off this. They put on really good events, usually meeting in Raleigh.

The night before, there is a tailgate party where Fitzy will be making an appearance. Also, Ben Coates and Antwan Harris will be there.

Tickets to that one are available here:

Then the day of there is an actual tailgate party at the stadium also being hosted by the fan club:

I plan to be at both of these events, I am the nerdy tall guy wearing glasses. Not built for football.

Please let me know if you will be there it would be great to meet people from patsfan.com!!!
Good to see that you guys in NC support the Pats the way you do. Keep it up we love possitive vibes all around the country.
The only problem with the tailgate is the beverage section

Usually the home team gets a 3 point advantage for home field advantage.
Sothat is like they see the Patriots as a 6.5 point favorite
Sounds about right

Could you imagine seeing him here with a helmet with holes drilled for those spikes coming off his head?
