I hope Onwenu was vaccinated. So Onwenu to RT. Trent Brown to LT. Karras at LG. Andrews and Mason.

So: Trent Brown - Karras - Andrews - Mason - Onwenu.

Do we really think that even if Brown plays he'll make it to the 3rd quarter?

Better win this one or the only thing left to hope for this season will be a top 5 draft pick
If so, let's keep up the Alabama theme and consider Evan Neal at OT, he seems to be mocked somewhere in the 2-6 overall range. Alabama has put out some really highly drafted offensive linemen in recent years but he may be the best of the lot (since Chris Samuels in 2000 at least).

Oftentimes, situations like this work out to be long-term beneficial. Getting subs in the rotation let's a team season them, build some chemistry, be ready for a in-game injury, etc.

This is a little dramatic, though. We could be looking at Cajuste-Karras-Andrews-Durant-Herron...umm.

Couple of things there: Durant was a Guard over at KC, I believe, so maybe that will be an improvement for him. I don't know why Cajuste hasn't played at all - I thought he was pretty good in PS, but that's just eye-test stuff.

Thing is, IF they survive this week and Jones doesn't get murdered and they get a W, a situation like this could help stabilize things a bit going forward. I capitalized "IF" because, yeah, that's a very big if.

Who knows - maybe all the OL replacements this week will be better at run blocking and we'll find something workable in a few of them?
I really hope Onwenu can play, even while presumedly missing practice all week on the Covid list. And, Redmond played 4? years with the Rams, so it's not like he would be useless if Mason can't go. Then, it's just a tackle mix-and-match...
Didn't Sherman play some RT in preseason?

I doubt they will put 3 remaining tackles in starting lineup wo backup. If Onwenu is not playing id guess Redmond would get the nod at G.

The OL drama is getting a bit too melodramatic. What happened to the next man up mentality? The drop off from starters - esp. the way they were playing so far - to backups is usually not that dramatic and can be overcome by better execution, scheme and team work.

No excuses, no fear.

I'm not sure the dropoff is as minor as you say (we saw what it looked like in 2019 when we still had Brady), but I agree that it is not a deathknell, especially against this Texans team. One thing I will say is in their favor, is that Mac played the majority of the preseason games with these backup linemen, so it's not like he doesn't know them (as well as he knows anybody this early in his career), so that will help. Also if we can get a few of the missing guys back to practice tomorrow, it will go a long way.

This week could be very interesting!!! Perhaps we might all have to say a prayer for Mac!!!

Thankfully Houston has a lousy run defense. We should just give the ball to Damien Harris the whole game.

I'm looking for this to be a breakout game for Mac. He's been slowly progressing and he's due for a no pic 3 or 4 TD game. So here's to the next level of Mac's growth

The question is, is there run defense worse than our run blocking? That's anybody's guess.

LOL, I was told there was no such things as moral victories...
Don't think he said anything close to a "moral victory", he's simply saying the team isn't hanging their heads and that they feel confident they can still win any game left on their schedule despite losing 3 so far.

I think the concern isn’t next man up but NEXT 4 MEN up.

I assumed that they are not hanging their heads at being 1-3 due to the close nature of at least 2 of those games and that really they can compete with anyone.
