Both Gonzo and Marcus were looking right at Rudolph when he threw it, and that was before Ridley broke open, so we don't know if either of them had that responsibility. Gonzo jumps it because he sees it. Seems to me Ridley was Gonzo's because you definitely want someone in Marcus's spot in case of a slant.

Patricia explained it in his TV appearance with Fauria. Gonzo and Marcus could have agreed to switch or not, we do not know, so there is no way to determine which CB had which WR.

It is the Peter Principle.

The Peter principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter which observes that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to "a level of respective incompetence“ and stagnate there.
It’s been 44-45 years since I read the book; but I believe you left off the bold part.

His point was that the „incompetent“ need to be returned to a level at which they were successful (or else coached-mentored-improved) to preclude the organization from becoming an incapable slow-moving behemoth. Also that the org shouldn’t ’throw away‘ the talent just cause they promote him too fast or too high.

But, the not-for-long league is probably a bad application of (the full) Peter principle. …. I don’t recall any team that promoted an OC/DC to HC and then firing him; turning around and moving him back to a coordinator position. The nfl generally just moves on to a new potential Peter-person.

Isn't that what's happened in Denver?

Glad to see him but he doesn't seem that open.
Kyles has been saying stuff like this all year. He also said Baker was unguardable during training camp.

1st play: He was open because Maye scrambled. The LB in the middle of the field left his man for Maye which is why Baker looks open.
2nd play: It's possible had Maye had more time.

Still glad Baker is out there we already know what Thornton and Polk can do...

I am. Watch the video, he was NFL open on the first route and comically open on the second one. Thats something to build upon.
He does look a lot more explosive than Polk. I said during training camp Polk looked slow, and literally no one agreed then, but didn’t see much of Baker. His problem is his head, and we will see if he can compensate.

This disastrous season comes down to 2 things - and they are as fundamental as a field is 100 yds.

Inability to stop the run. Cause = Front 7. Blame = Wolf & Mayo/Covington & Injury
Inability to run the ball. Cause = OL. Blame = Wolf/Mayo & Injury
It comes down to one person: Bob Kraft. This is all on him.

Yep; if we had only league-average coaching, we would be 5-4.
No. We are putting way too many players out there that don’t belong. Backup quality guys are playing major roles and don’t belong in the league guys are playing reserve roles.
If we had added about 8-10 average level NFL players across the roster we would be competitive, WITH CAPABLE COACHING.

I always use the 2001 Patriots as a base level of a quality NFL
roster based upon this formula about them:

In every aspect of the game, that team would
EXPLOIT YOUR WEAKNESSES
LIMIT YOIR STRENGTH and
OUTPLAY YOUR AVERAGE AREAS

you don’t need superstardom to do that, it’s more about lack of weaknesses than areas of dominance
