Maybe Drake wanted him to sit earlier in the route, but I don't think that was the case. Because he has excellent accuracy doesn't mean he won't have bad throws. Even throwing in the back yard it is difficult to put it where you want every time, added difficulty put 4 300 pounders in front of ya.

I do think Pop has ran the wrong routes at times and sit in a different spot than Drake was anticipating but this wasn't that.
I think it was a miscommunication, Drake wanted him to stop sooner, Pop kept going. That's just part of the McDaniels offense. It's too easy a throw to be off that much. Drake did try to aim the ball a bit to take something off, maybe that threw off the timing also. Also, could be he did not want to lead him into the linebacker. He moved Diggs way outside away from DD before the snap, seemed to know where he was going before the snap so my guess is DD is first read, if a zone, go down, turn in and stop if open, keep going if covered but really a total guess..

Yes Pop does not know how to sit down in a zone. Pop should have stopped roughly between the two defenders. Kind of easy to do but Pop does not get it.

On that play we can say: Pops catch radius is underrated he needed all of it there.

The WR out wide was that Diggs or Boutte?? Looks Open on the slant or in cut... defenders don't have a play.

They turned on him when he benched Bernie Kosar.
Yup. I'm still close with a Browns fan who moved back to Ohio and we still talk about Bernie. So did his friends that I met at the game in 2000. It's a real sore subject for them. Their fans were great.

Interesting.. you know something I have this hunch that the Colts will be one of those teams that get beat in the first round against say like a buffalo or KC..
Not Buffalo. Not with that offense. Jones and Company would destroy the Bills defense. They've got the best OL in the league and a quarterback who's making good decisions behind it. The Bills D would be outmatched and then some. Allen would have to outshoot the best offense in the AFC, and I don't think he has the horses for that.

Also if he's healthy come playoff time, Jonathan Taylor is going to be hard for anyone to stop.

KC is another matter, they have a high powered offense of their own, but the Chiefs are making more mistakes than the Colts right now, so from here, I give the Colts a 55-45 advantage in a playoff matchup.

The Colts are literally the only team in the AFC that I look at and say I'm not sure that one goes our way. If only because a lot of our best players are still developing and theirs are in their prime.

We're also the only team in the AFC that I can say with no self-consciousness can go into a game with the Colts and win. They have a better offense, but that's countered by our superior D. It'd be a spicy matchup but we're one of the few teams with the tools to face them head on and expect to win.

Frankly I'm looking forward to the matchup. Looks like it would be some amazing football.

If you had picked the Jete for your strategy, you'd still be playing...

There were plenty of picks, including the one using my fool-proof method that would have kept this fool alive.

Was the "seemed to me you came off..." feedback just from my original post on this thread or from my reactions over the season? Thanks!

A tip of the cap from one regular guy to another my man. Between the new offense to be learned and the Campbell, Henderson and Wilson picks along with the FA signings I was thinking this was shaping up to be a run first offense for at least the first half of the season while they brought Maye along and Diggs got up to speed. Instead it's Drake's world, we're just living in it and that's just fine by me. I too root for the laundry not my opinions.

I haven't watched much of the Colts. Are they riding the coat tails of Taylor too much or are they legitimately well rounded all across the board?
Believe it or not, the guy who carried the Colts to their last 2 wins is Daniel Jones. the Chargers came in with a gameplan to try to cancel JT, and not only did Jones blow that up with accurate passing, but when they went into coverage to slow down the passing attack JT broke loose for 3 more tuds.

I have no idea what Shane Steichen did to the man. But he did something because somehow Daniel Jones is playing at a legit MVP candidate level.

Catch was unreal ... But it also may be that Douglas ran the wrong route.
More likely Maye’s bells were still ringing. That was just after he came back from visiting the blue tent. When I saw the way he threw it I immediately thought he was still recalibrating. If you look it wasn’t just off target it was a poor throw.

He definitely didn't. I know we want to give Maye the benefit of the doubt, but that was a straight up missthrow imho looking at the replay. Pop wasn't gonna be running straight at the LB, 50, or sitting in for the catch between/close to 2 defenders.
Look at the quality of the ball on that replay. It was not a good throw apart from being off target.

Was thinking a missed hitch... But it was a great snag and you may be right, IDK. I think it was also soon after the concussion check, so that was a bit And ultimately I don't really care, just wanna keep see them rolling...
Exactly, it was two or three plays after Maye came out of the blue tent. And the flight of the ball wasn’t pretty either.

I don’t really care except for people blaming Pop when he did nothing wrong and made a great catch to bail out Drake.

Could be, just seemed to me like he expected Pop to sit in that hole once made the turn. Just based on when Maye released it

Wrong. Drake just made a bad throw. Look at how the ball comes out of his hand and you can tell it’s his problem not Pop.

The Rham today ran against one of the worst run Ds in the league. Doing this against Cleveland’s front will tell us more.

The titans were a good opponent for Trey to get some run and maybe some confidence going forward. His big play ability can take this offense to the next level.

He was doing it against Simmons and Sweat. Not Larry and Moe. This was pointed out during the game and by the Pundits. Yes, it was Sweat's first game back from injury, but he played early on next to Simmons and they still got gashed. Which was nice to see.

No, if Pop sits down there his bells will be ringing from the hit that trailing DB will put on him. He has great separation and as long as he keeps moving there’s no one in position to close on him. If he sits down there there’s no YAC, if he keeps moving and Drake leads him it’s a TD. It’s Drake’s mistake. But Drake’s the golden boy and Pop is taking the rap for him.

half the teams the play, lose... at least you have a system... i look at my picks and say "wtf was I thinking"
