I was glad to see Henry get some balls today

Funny to think that the Bills have been eliminated from the 1 seed, but we still have a <1% chance. At this point with our crappy home record, I personally don't care where we play if we don't get the first seed. It's going to be a gauntlet of winnable games if they stay disciplined and execute the things they can control.

So, the pats split with bills….pats destroy jags but jags beat bills….starting to make sense now!

Everybody in the AFC is a contender this year. The Pats blew out the current #1 seed - the Titans. The Chiefs lost in Cincinnati in a shoot out. The Colts lost to the Raiders. I don't see a clear cut elite team in the bunch. Survive and move on will be the name of the game in the AFC playoffs this year.

Sorry @Tunescribe, but we're all Jets fans next week. If the Jets can go into Buffalo and beat them, the Pats can win the AFC East and host a playoff game, and it may not be the Bills depending on what happens with the Bengals at the Browns. Everybody plays at 1:00 pm on Sunday for final seeding. Gotta love it.
As Bad as the Home-vs -away record is, they could be better off going to Buffy.

but yeah, it still looks wide open.

That's fine. But if Lawerence said to the Jags prior to the draft that he refused to play for them, would they still draft him and keep him? Remember, a player can enter a redraft the following year if he refuses a team that drafts him. I know a team would not risk that as they’d lose their #1 pick.

But as I said before, 99.9% of players just want to be drafted.
Again, I disagree with your conjecture. No matter how many times you repeat yourself.

Patriots are 1 game behind the best record in the conference. If Damien Harris has not fumbled against Miami the patriots would currently be the 1 seed. AFC playoffs are more up for grabs that any time in memory.
That said, home field and the bye create big advantages for the teams that have them.

Kicking butt against a team you are supposed to beat at least shows you can execute, and lets you leave the stadium feeling good.

Now, it's just a matter of stepping up our game when we're playing better teams.

Feeling good about yourself helps make that happen.

Of course, losing to a team you should beat would do the exact opposite, so let's hope we leave the MIA game with a win next week.

I wish this had happened last offseason , it’s going to cost them more money or the player.
It wasn't going to happen last season. Jackson wanted to play out the contract. It's not going to cost them the player as they'll franchise him. And the number that @Miguel of Patscap is using is around 17.5M. Which is less than the 18.6M I thought based on what OverTheCap has listed as the Top 5. Pats will need to do a between 4yr/72 and 5yr/95 to get a deal done with Jackson that includes $66+M guaranteed. They CAN do it. Especially with the knowledge that we're going to see a jump of some $20M-$30M in the cap in 2023 because of the new TV contracts.

If BillB willing to spend 12m+ per year (each) for Jonnu, Hunter, Nelson, he can certainly spend 17m per year for a young CB that is a known quantity and will only get better (aka: he is no fluke).

They could if they tried.
Absolutely could, but it requires a lot of pretty specific circumstances - another career/monetary support to fall back on, family support, probably media support, etc. Every owner, much less the league itself, is at or near billionaire status with unlimited resources to throw at a problem like that.

It's a lot for most draftee circumstances as a middle class or lower kid coming out of college with thousands of voices clamoring "advice" in his head. How many of us were 100% clear headed making solid life decisions coming out of college much less with literally millions at stake? How many of us were willing further to be "that guy" willing to stand against a multi-billion dollar behemoth to make a "point" about declaring where you want to play?

Possible. Sure. Probable? Highly unlikely.

Whatever you do @Since1960 , do not wash that Jersey. These guys need all the mojo they can get. I went with the Chapel Hill t-shirt under the ratty New England Patriots hoodie. All my other "lucky" stuff piled up losses and are presently banished. The Heels blew out BC in men's hoops and the Patriots blew out the Jags. Not sure if my attire had anything to do with it, but I'm grasping for straws here.
Not to worry “goheels22002” - I’ll *gladly* wear this unwashed jersey for another *5* more games!!

pats can make a run from this spot

What are you apologizing for? I'm a Patriots fan first and foremost and with you all the way. Go pathetic stanky Jete, beat the Prairie Cows!
