Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Jags

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Thought there was a play in the 3rd Quarter when Lawrence/Jags coaches kinda disrespected the game and the Pats. Backed up, 3rd and 12 or thereabouts, down 34-3...and Lawrence fires a dart straight to Dugger who almost had the pick 6. For me some days you have to accept you're outmatched and undermanned. Hand it off, punt. Make the Pats earn more points. Just stupid.

Wilkerson should have had that TD catch. It went thru his hands !
Good game experience getting whacked hard in the head as he's attempting the catch. Good fodder for BB.

If you were told before the 2021 draft started that Mac Jones would defeat Trevor Lawrence head to head by 40 points later that year, would you believe it? Now that it has come to pass, it makes it even all the more incredible that Mac Jones slipped to us at 15. Kid easily could have padded his stats more but he didn't need to because we were winning by SO MUCH that he could sit for most of the 4th quarter.

230 yards 3 TDs and 73% passing, leading us to 44 points while he was on the field by Mac Jones. Can't get much more efficient than that!
I would. It pretty much worked out that way in college. Fields beat the crap out of Lawrence and then Jones beat the crap out of Fields. It should have been a clue to all these pundits how much better Fields was than Lawrence.

He was a top prospect for a few years in College. He would’ve had leverage to avoid going to a franchise like the Jags (if he made it known) because other teams would’ve made a deal with the Jags (say like the 49ers to get him). However, like all but Eli and Elway, they’d rather not fight it so they can be the #1 overall pick.
One guy has ever done that.

This went as well as it should have. Jags are a woeful team, but still, to be as productive and dominant as we were, especially on offense, was important to see. Great to see Meyers big day and get another TD. Got almost everyone involved on O, even Gunner converting a 3rd down catch. And Wilkerson showing his potential is exciting to see, he is certainly a quick and shifty guy which we could use going forward - I don't think we ever need to see Harry on the field again.

He can't help where he got drafted. But he did throw those 4 interceptions didn't he?
The argument it IS his fault where he was drafted.

Upbeat AP at presser!

In the space of 4 years the Jags have gone from the AFC Championship game to possibly having the first pick 2 years in a row. Almost need to be be doing it on purpose to be that bad that quickly.

Elway had a baseball contract. Lawrence didn’t.
Eli Manning didn’t have a baseball contract. Chargers took him and got value out of it. Teams aren’t going to risk wasting a top pick if you make it known you don’t want to play for them.

Really needed this win. A total feel good win. Mac was excellent, run game was excellent. Wilkerson plays one game, and he’s already 10x better than Harry. I don’t want to see Harry play another game as a Patriot. Obviously Mac has good chemistry with Wilkerson. Get Agholor healthy, and then you have a decent WR corps with Meyers, Bourne, Agholor & Wilkerson.

Would love to see the Pats destroy the Dolphins next week, but the Pats always seem to have trouble with the Dolphins. Would love to see the Pats finish 11-6, with a 2 game win streak heading to the playoffs, feeling good about themselves.

No matter what though, this has been a successful season, 10 (or 11) wins, a playoff slot, all with a rookie QB and a lot of new guys.

Interesting stat, since 2000, the Pats have had three seasons with games scoring 50 points or more, multiple times in that particular season. They did it in 2007, 2012 & 2021. Since 2000, The rest of the NFL only 3 other teams did it. So it’s happened 6 times since 2000, Pats have 3 of them.
