They won that SB off defense. Held number 2 offense in the league to 3 points, held the number 1 offense to to zero for a half which was enough for us to squeak by when they got rolling because their defense was so bad. And they held the Chargers in check until garbage time.
Sure, but the offense was much better when the went to a power running game with play action. Not much of a dispute there.

Don't forget that 2 of the ints were off the hands of receivers.. Not really Jones'
Yeah he's also delivered the ball directly into the hands of DBs that stupidly dropped them or were called back on penalties. So I'd say it evens out. Or maybe even tilts in his favor based on some of those lucky moments

We got to the bye at 5-4. I had them optimistically at 7-2 enroute to an 11-6 record, and realistically at 6-3/10-7.

Our defense is considerably better than I expected. Our offense isn't quite as bad as it's looked recently - e.g., people were critical of last week's showing against the Jets, and yesterday the Bills' state-of-the-art offense played even worse against them. With 2 weeks to work on it, and hopefully with Andrews & Parker returning, I think the O gets better and better.

Critical game vs the Jets in 2 weeks. We need the fans to come out in force.

Strange 15 snaps is terrible for a First Rounder. You're telling me he's hit the Rookie wall??

Patricia is calling terrible plays for Mac. Judge is of no help whatsover. Macs offense is more difficult too. The OL does not block and Mac has no time. The WRs and TEs run the wrong routes and rarely get open.

Still Mac is on a 2 game win streak.

To me, the biggest issue seems to be the OL. They are keeping blockers in to help the OT to chip block or pass protect and its not giving Mac time. Sure, we could have better playcalling at times, however, I think execution is a way more glaring issue. Mac needs to find open receivers better, is not great at improvising once the pocket collapses, OL hasn't been great and Mac can't settle in, and the turnovers are killing us... not so much yesterday.

So is Strange headed towards being a bust? he has a PFF grade of 55 on the season.

Why do you keep saying this?
This happens to every single QB in the league. Including the all-time greats.

I've seen this happen to pat Mahomes so many times this year!!

This is totally normal.

Dropped INTs don't count as INTs. This is so basic.

we have tie breaker against Jets and still have 1 more game against them at home
Yup. And the Bills are now 0-2 in the division. 4-2 in the AFC tied with Jets and Pats. Pats get a crack at the Bills twice. You always want the lessor teams to beat the better teams any chance you get. Some people aren’t thinking clearly on how seeding/division strategy works.

Nice to see Yodny Cajuste playing a full game at RT he looked alright. Contract year for him if he plays well.

It looks to me like MP is testing a theorem to point of failure before making needed adjustments. He also displays a lack of flexibility. In other words, he is coaching like an engineer would develop a product.
I hope, like most engineers, that he has a deadline.
It's Belichick's offense. The past 2 weeks they've faced very tough defenses without their starting center or #1WR, vs teams with faulty offenses. BB played those games very conservatively, letting the D and Folk win them. MP doesn't have a lot to do with it.

He’s gotten abused the last few weeks. He looks kinda of light for a guard.

So, Josh Uche went into the season as a 23 year old.

Why are we drafting pre-pubescent players? LOL. No wonder it's taken this guy so long to develop?

I had no idea he was so young agewise.

He's in his 3rd year now.

If Uche keeps it up, we'll stop talking about the two good drafts the Patriots had, and we'll start talking about the 3 in a row they've strung together, because that 2020 draft will have the following players:

Dugger, Uche, Jennings, Onwenu

Maybe it was just me, maybe it was the way the mics were set up/the sound was processed at the TV station, but I thought our crowd was awful yesterday. Pretty much the only crowd noise I heard picked up by the broadcast mics was one guy heckling various refs/players repeatedly.

There could be something to that he is not used to playing with Ferentz and plays better with Andrews. Seems like a big coincidence that his play has dropped since Andrews went out. I asked Andrew Callahan this very same question on his podcast, but he thought it was Strange just not playing well.

Specifically, we're not getting good play from the RT, C and LG, if that continues, we're not going to be able to do much on offense going forward.

I really hope this is the only season we have to put up with Patricia. Mac and the offense regressing this much is an embarrassment. It’s been an issue since the beginning of training camp.

This is the question id have. If we dont turn things around offensively will bb accept that change is needed or give this more time / another season of probably a really good defense wasted.

Nothing on the OL was great yesterday, but I believe Cajuste settled in over the course of the game at RT. Did anyone break that down? I mean, he was out for around 2 months, so it's fair to give him a game to adjust.
Not sure on the Wynn LG thing. It wasn't great, but I wonder if Strange would be better suited at Tackle? With Andrews back, wonder if Wynn or Strange will be best at LG. It may be worth trying it out vs Jets after bye week to practice it: Brown - Wynn - Andrews - Onwenu - Cajuste
Strange and Russey could keep developing and serve as backups.

To me cadjuste looked decent in the 2nd half on pass protection. I did not notice him on runs. I was happy though, and no penalties i can recall. I hope he gets a shot to start at least until/ if cannon returns

I hope

I hope that playing it safe was BBs call. Play calling by rote isn't quite so safe though and conservative plays can be used in variations too. This is at least the second time we've heard about defenders correctly shouting out the play at the line of scrimmage.
