Excellent post.

I've noticed an improvement in your content and level of obedience lately.

We appreciate you bending the knee.
Did you see this?

Just bought a Mac jersey from Bob Kraft. Authentic too.

The Bills weren't good today. At all. Jets made Allen look like Josh Allen circa 2018.
Comparing our offense a week ago at the Jets vs the Bills offense yesterday at the Jets:

Allen was 18-34 for 205 yards, 0 TDs, 2 Int's. Team had 324 yards of offense, 17 points, and lost.
Mac was 24-35 for 194 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int. Team had 321 yards of offense, 22 points, and won.

And we lost our #1 receiver on the first play of the game, who also missed yesterday.

They also had Tom Brady as QB and an actual qualified offensive coordinator.
They have Bill. He was Brady’s mentor. You have a point though. Bill can’t do everything.

we have tie breaker against Jets and still have 1 more game against them at home
realistically the Bills are still winning the division, that means we are chasing 2nd and given the strength of our upcoming schedule might struggle for wins so we need to make 2nd place as achievable as possible so we need the Jets and the dolphins to lose as many games as possible. A tie breaker is only relevant if we are tied so Jets winning is bad for us.

Yes, football is the "ultimate team sport"...you need help all around. If one thing is not working, as a team, you're in trouble.

Word is that the Colts D were calling out Pats running plays before they happened. They're not disguising what they're doing and teams are going to tee off on that if they're smart.
I reacted to this yesterday. The biggest fault of the O is not Mac suddenly forgetting how to play QB. It's MP's putrid playcalling. Not that the plays or scheme is untenable, it's the order and progression. His pattern is so obvious, even I can predict the entire series. There's absolutely ZERO changeup in the sequence of plays run.

The changes lessened Brady’s impact on the game. They played power football. That opened it up for play action.
They won that SB off defense. Held number 2 offense in the league to 3 points, held the number 1 offense to to zero for a half which was enough for us to squeak by when they got rolling because their defense was so bad. And they held the Chargers in check until garbage time.

Surprised so much negativity after a win.

I loved watching our defense pin their ears back today and Judon pad his sack total.

Great special teams performance too.

Never gave the the Colts any semblance of momentum during the game.

I'll take it.
The Colts are not a good team, this is the type of win that 5 years ago we all would have said “we did what we were supposed to, let’s move on”. The problem was a lot of issues that went on all season we’re on display in this game and it’s worth criticizing.

Way too many losing plays on first down yesterday. The team looks much better when they go to hurry up. Let Mac succeed or fail on his terms. At least we will have the answer on his capability as an NFL QB.

Nothing on the OL was great yesterday, but I believe Cajuste settled in over the course of the game at RT. Did anyone break that down? I mean, he was out for around 2 months, so it's fair to give him a game to adjust.
Not sure on the Wynn LG thing. It wasn't great, but I wonder if Strange would be better suited at Tackle? With Andrews back, wonder if Wynn or Strange will be best at LG. It may be worth trying it out vs Jets after bye week to practice it: Brown - Wynn - Andrews - Onwenu - Cajuste
Strange and Russey could keep developing and serve as backups.

The amazing thing to me yesterday was that Myles Bryant got more snaps than Jack and Jonathan Jones!!! Marcus Jones had only 7.

How does that happen? LOL.

PFK - I didn't see most of today's game, but I'm gonna disagree with you about the separation in previous games. He's gotten it. Mac or Zappe haven't been able to get the ball there OR they over-threw him.. Mac did that once already. Thornton gave it his all to get there, but the ball was just over-thrown.

I didn't expect Thornton to immediately be Tyreek Hill. But I've seen the flashes. The issues are more to do with the O-line not getting the QBs time and with the timing with Mac being off.
Your lips to God's ear.

The really unfortunate thing about Mac this season is that at least half of his INTs have come from crazy throws retreating off his back foot, just totally unnecessary heaves. If not for those, he wouldn't have been benched, the coaches would have a lot more trust. He'd have a lot more confidence himself.

It's OK to throw 3 or 4 INTs in 5 games. But to compound that with stuff that is totally unnecessary?

We're seeing self-inflicted wounds. You have to know that the message was sent to Mac: don't throw INTs, take better care of the ball. That makes for a QB who is more reticent to make the more difficult throw.

And again, we're playing from in front the last 2 weeks, which makes it even more important not to let the opposition back in the game.

This reminds me of Mac sliding at the 3 yesterday. He took a shot to the head going for a first down headfirst last week, and the announcers talked about the way he reacted--they wondered why he wasn't in the concussion protocol. I bet the Patriots coaches told him not to do that again. And look at the result??

Reckless play has now created the conditions for playing it way too safe. Again, they are in front, so it makes sense you'd play conservatively. But...

As always, I'm late to the thread and will offer a minor observation that's probably already been discussed:

On Mac's two noticeable overthrows (to Rham and to Thornton), I thought the Thornton one wasn't that bad. It looked to me like he read the one on one situation, and put it where Thornton would be if he had won cleanly off the line. Thornton got held up a little and the ball went too far. If Mac puts that right where Thornton actually was, and Tyquan HAD won cleanly at the line, it would have been underthrown and possibly picked. It was a timing play that just didn't work.

The Rham one was just a miss though.

Patricia is calling terrible plays for Mac. Judge is of no help whatsover. Macs offense is more difficult too. The OL does not block and Mac has no time. The WRs and TEs run the wrong routes and rarely get open.

Still Mac is on a 2 game win streak.

It looks to me like MP is testing a theorem to point of failure before making needed adjustments. He also displays a lack of flexibility. In other words, he is coaching like an engineer would develop a product.
I hope, like most engineers, that he has a deadline.
