Credit where credit is due….they did a better job on coaching today….have to see what happens the rest of the way
Anybody have comments about Mayo’s level of in-game involvement?

The London post-game thread roasted him as a spectator. So….. is he learning, adapting, improving?

I didn't see him do much today, but I will give credit to AVP and Covington for calling much better plays. If someone wants to point to something Mayo did, I will gladly walk back my criticism of him.

He got hurt on a routine QB scramble play. Had nothing to do with OL. Gave himself up and jets took a dirty shot.
Yeah, no idea what this take means. Dude had an open hole and ran through it, and even slid down to avoid a hit. Jets player decided to hit him anyway. Really has nothing to do with the OL, that can happen to any QB any time they run and slide.

Agreed. But I do think it suggests we should teach him that he'll last a lot longer if he stays more of a pocket passer.

Congratulations to all those who demanded Maye play behind the worst OL in football. You got your wish.
It's football he got dinged on the head when running the ball, we gonna blame the OL and say he shouldn't play if he twists his ankle getting off the bus?

You could build the best OL in history and that exact play can still happen every week.

Maye's 1st official win as a starter!

Edit: Maybe I should read the thread 1st before posting, as this has been mentioned... very early.

Mayo first reported the concussion during a halftime interview with CBS, then told reporters after the 25-22 win that he saw his rookie quarterback wanted to return to play.

“I walked in at halftime and saw him. The competitor that he is, obviously he wanted to go back out there and play. But there’s a protocol that he has to go through,” Mayo said. “Again, can’t wait to get him back.”

...

The rookie was then escorted into the sideline medical tent, where he stayed for a few minutes and eventually departed for the locker room. Mayo was asked if he felt any surprise that the helmet-to-helmet hit was not flagged as a penalty.

“They didn’t call it,” he said. “I had conversations with them the entire game. I thought some of those calls were questionable. At the same time I have to go back and watch the film. We’ll have those conversations.”

McConkey…….ugh

Anybody have a link to video of the run w the concussion hit?

The below photo from Herald makes me question if it was helmet-helmet as said earlier in this thread OR did Jamien Sherwood WHACK him in the head with that CLUB on his Right hand ?

Thornton got bumped early on his drop.

Was helmet to helmet mid-slide:

Get him some better Wide Receivers and he'll run less.

And better oline. But I do think it's a thing a lot of mobile quarterbacks go through, realizing the length of their career hinges on not becoming a runner too often.

He was sliding and got clipped in the head. Nothing to do with the OL (which held up remarkably well against a potentially fearsome Jets' DL with Reddick also playing for the first time this season.

But must say the Jets DL had no rush discipline - kept leaving lanes for Maye to run.
