I've always been pretty optimistic about the Pats and argue with the doomers on the board. To be fair though, the doomers got a lot right in predicting the issues of this team. So I'm going to list my complaints here in a hope for catharsis.

1. I wasn't as worried about the offensive play calling coming into the game. However, there just wasn't anything innovative, special or cool about the offense. They started out with a bunch of motion pre-snap but that decreased as the game went on. On a day when the offense can't really put up points I would have liked to see some inventive plays to help build momentum and didn't get any of that. At the very least you would think the gameplan would be to attack the Dolphin's number 2 corner who is their weakest link until Jones comes back, but the only time I saw that was on the deep pass to Bourne.

2. Speaking of Bourne, I'm not sure who is to blame for the low snap count but it's probably the same person that calls the plays.

3. I try not to complain about the refs, but the blown call on the INT to start the game, calling Mac for intentional grounding only to swallow their whistle when Tua does the same thing twice and calling a chop block when Andrews was no longer engaged with the blitzing linebacker to offset the high/low hit that probably injured Mac all helped to shape the game in a negative way.

4. On the fourth and 7 td that the Fins scored before the half, what kind of garbage defense is that. Was it a bad play call? Was Bentley just in the wrong position? Was it an awful play by Dugger and Bentley running into each other. Probably all of those things combined, but the alignment was bad and I blame the coaching for that. Bentley should either be shallow enough to discourage a quick slant or deep enough to tackle Waddle as soon as he catches it, instead Bentley was too deep to prevent the slant and also too deep to meet the receiver as soon as it was thrown. It also appeared that the corners were in man which also was a mistake.

5. With the way the ball was moving on the ground, I would like to see more runs. I know they are trying to give Mac more opportunities this year, but more runs would have helped the offense overall.

6. I expect this team to improve as the season goes on, but I think an 0-4 start is extremely likely. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the team followed a similar script to last season.

Jennings being a healthy scratch is also a bad sign. Didn't see Mack Wilson out there much either.

Whats more frustrating is if we had that timeout from the 4th down where we jumped offsides anyways, miami might not have been willing to take that risk with 25 seconds and being pretty closed to midfield.

Phil Perry watched Bourne all game and said he’s clearly upset with what’s going on. After the 41 yarder, he came out for a play. Then Bourne started to run back on the field the next play, but Troy Brown waived him off with Bourne looking upset. Then Bourne sees Agholor fumble and starts walking the sidelines talking with his finger in the air where he saw Jonnu Smith trying to calm him down.

I know the defense was not really the biggest issue yesterday, but I just remembered how often I saw Tavai out there, even in passing scenarios. That better not be an every game thing. I'm also getting sick of Myles Bryant being so high on the depth chart. What's going to happen if we put Marcus or Jack Jones in there? They'll get roasted like Bryant already does?

That missed DPI was big. What bothered me the most was how obvious it was. NSFW audio so mute if you don't want an F-bomb coming out of your speakers.

Yeah, the two players I'd like to see further down the depth chart are Bryant and Tavai. Just seems like nothing but bad happens when their involved and it happened again yesterday with Bryant being front and center.

I don't get what they see in Tavai. I have never seen anything he seems to excel at and yet he keeps playing over other guys.

MIA won TOP by 5 minutes. That's substantial.

Your entire arguments are based on if this or if that happened. Well, it didn't happen. Your make belief analysis is weak. Again, MIA controlled the pace of the game. I was at the stadium & there were a sh*t ton of Pats fans all looking dejected by halftime. They mainly remained inside after the half and were the first ones out the door midway through the 4th qtr.

I have to admit the Pats fans played like crap yesterday. That is hard hitting analysis right there. How did the Dolphins' mascot do? He was the real star of the game.

You criticize my analysis and the bring what Pats' fans at the game were feeling to support your point? Really?!?

BTW, I remember being at a game a number years ago where most of the fans left the game when the Pats got down by a lot and the Pats ended winning the game with like 15,000-20,000 left in the stadium. I cannot remember the details of the game, but remember the fans.

And all you have to do is look at any game day thread after the Pats get down, even during the Brady era, half the fans talk about how the game is over and the team sucks even if they are only down by seven points in the first quarter.

So fans are not a good indicator of what the Pats' chances are. Especially this year with so many people already thinking this team is going to stink.

And the TOP has a lot to do with Miami having an extra possession than the Pats with them running out the clock on the last drive. And even the second to last drive by the Dolphins ate up a lot of time even though they called passing plays 4 of the 6 plays of the drive.

Bourne being allowed 2 snaps isn't putting the offense in position to succeed.

Hope they'll figure that one out. You put him in the game plan, and figure out a way to get him more than 2 snaps ffs.

Ugh!! Doesnt sound good at all

I don’t blame him for being upset. He can help this team alot and is being glued to the bench. on 2 snaps he outproduced almost everyone

We see this sometimes at every position, especially early in seasons. Reminds me of when we kept playing Jordan Devey in September 2014 despite him clearly being in the bottom percentile of offensive linemen who have ever played in the NFL.

That's one where if I'm Belichick I ask the league for clarification because if that's not holding at the very least then I'm instructing my DB's to do it on every play.
