The Patriots end of half strategy is typically conservative to kick off a drive when not in plus field position and adjusts depending on results of first couple plays. Pats received the ball at the 25 with about a minute to go and 3 TO's. If the run on first down had been successful (4 yards or more) I assume the Pats would have either gone into hurry up or called a TO. Because it lost 2 yards they decided that the risk/reward of being aggressive was not worth it. The net 55 yard punt was the killer. If it was a net 40 and the Pats got the ball around the 40 I assume they would have been much more aggressive.
I would have preferred they call a TO after the Dolphins last play to save some time and and tried a screen or another relatively pass safe play to start the drive. They had shown some signs of life in prior drive and it seemed like a good opportunity to control the momentum.
