Team wins 7 in a row, most by wide margins, against a plethora of good teams, but 1 loss and all the complaints are back in full-force. McDaniels sucks, this guy sucks, that guy sucks... It sure is incredible that they won all those games with so many horrible coaches and players.

Losses happen people. It's a rebuilding team.

Going back to last year, this team is now 2-4 in December. Mac said they had a bad week of practice and the energy was low. Very un-Patriot like as we head down the home stretch. We literally gave the top seed away.

Yes was thinking about how 2019 played out

Until they prove it I'm not convinced this is the Patriots of old who figure it out and go on a streak from Dec onward. The hard recent evidence is this staff around BB fades over the season and gets exposed after Thanksgiving

I dunno. Kicking a FG late in the 4th seemed like giving up to me.
There was almost 10 minutes left, I thought Belichick believed the defense getting a stop was a better gamble than 1 play to either win or lose the game. It didn’t work but I get why he went that route.

Cement cleats with those tie on K-Tel roller skates

He was….not good. Did anyone notice the run play to his side when he somehow got turned around the wrong way and essentially ran straight into Bolden as he was trying to find a hole? That is a Keystone Cops move that I would expect to see in NJ, not from a Pats team.

I want to fast-forward to next Sunday, in hopes that they will rebound from this poor performance and wasted opportunity and actually look like they still have that 2-4 mindset. Part of me wishes that they had truly been dominated the whole game, so that I could chalk it up to “well, just one of those games”. The Onwenu false start on 3rd and goal was the mental back-breaker for me. I’m convinced that they would have won that game if they had made it 20-14 there. My wife isn’t a football fan but she roots for the Pats to win because she knows that I will be in a foul mood for a week if they lose.

Yeah thats every football game in the world.
No sometimes the other team beats you and sometimes you help the other team beat you. We did the latter last night.

I won't lie. When we were down 17-0 I wasn't happy but by the end of the game I thought instead that we were 9-4 and almost NOBODY saw that coming. We will likely finish with 11 or 12 wins. This season was a success.

This is what I mentioned a few days ago - if we started soft on run-D we were going to lose. I think there was a case of over-inflated self-perception. It took both units a whole half to shake the rust. I have no idea why they didn't start throwing to the TE's earlier. Even Rham looked ineffective. But, it seems they took him out of the game the 2nd half - was that because of his fumble??
It will be nice to get Harris back, and I hope Agholor is okay. But honestly, Harry showed up last night. I wonder if this late season, physical games, will be something he provides real value for?
Ultimately, some mentioned how 1 loss before the playoffs might be good for this team, and it sounds like it could be - based on some comments from the team afterward. A real wakeup call. They need to win these last 3 games!

If you told me at the end of last season (which sucked), that in mid-December of the next season, the team would be 9-5 and leading the AFC East with one win already notched against Buffalo, and 3 games to go, I'd be ecstatic! Of course there are a lot of things to work on but the rebuilding effort is way ahead of schedule.

Ah yes, the “ geniuses.” Win or lose they are always right, and they will always be the first to tell how they predicted the win, or how the reason they lost was because the Patriots didn’t do things the way they say they said they should. There is however another term for them , fair weather fans.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good

For the most part, the majority of the numbers look good.

Time of possession NE 29 - IND 31
3rd down NE 40% - IND 20%
# of Plays NE 65 - IND 52
Net gain NE 5.6 YDS - IND 5.3 YDS
TDs NE 2 - IND 2
Redzone NE 50% - IND 50%

The Bad

Wentz was worse passing than Mac, but this was a night where Mac had to be where he was @ 70% completion percentage because the run game was misfiring.

Completion % NE 57% - IND 41%
INTs - NE 2 - IND 1
Rushing yards NE 81- IND 226
Punt average NE 3 @ 26.7 IND 2 @ 43.5
Return yards NE 21 - IND 76
Neutral zone infraction on the Indy missed FG

The Ugly

Perusing through the stats the loss comes down to 2 obvious big plays from Indy in my mind.

The Blocked punt for a TD - 14 - 0 hole Im not sure what the odds of winning are when you score like this, but it seems like its money in the bank when the 3rd phase of the game can put up numbers.
The Taylor TD run - Everyone knew that he was getting the ball. Despite how bad NE played, they clawed back and had a chance to tie it up.

BB in that Lids Lockeroom outfit. It doesnt work.

Reich had a hoodie on. Fyck Goodell, its hoodies from now on. With the sleeves cut off too.

If Harry even plays again this year after that rocket shot to his skull. That was ugly.

I don't agree.

Giving up would have been handing it off on 4th down.

Took the points and gambled that you'd have the ball back to end the game down by 7 or less.

This team gave up 220 rushing yards so don't excuse it as only 2 big runs. Gave up 270 rushing yards two games ago and 100 yards the week after.

The reason I harp on run D is the Pats won't go far without an elite championship defense carrying the entire team and the sputtering offense.

Wynn had a horrible game. Looked like he had cement cleats on.

You’re right, but Mason wasn’t great either. The whole OL was mediscrete.

Agree and I still think that they can beat with any team in the AFC, but the morning after they blew such a winnable game by continually shooting themselves in the foot, it is hard for me to see that bigger picture. It this team has the mental “it” factor that many Pats teams have had over the past 20 years, they will rebound and put the East away next Sunday at home.

I'm pretty confident. They’re not playing that badly again. They will win out to finish the season 12-5.
