Brady's arm is adequate. We're not talking Elway or Rodgers here...the point is the very best QBs in NFL history don't have to have strong arms.
The man can drill the football when he has to, though.

He's played in 6 games and has 1 catch this year. So 'hanging on to him' may be dubious.

This is from an article at the end of his rookie year:
  • Second-round pick Andy Isabella's rookie season was a roller-coaster ride. He played just 38 snaps in the first eight games before finding a small role in the offense. He established himself as a speedster who was tough to defend in one specific route: Fly. He showed off his speed, and how difficult he is to cover when he gets a step on a defensive back, during an 88-yard touchdown catch against the San Francisco 49ers on Halloween. He finished the season with 189 yards on nine catches. But he played just one snap in Week 17.
The next year he had 21 catches and as I said, 1 this year.
Sometimes guys just dont fit on certain teams with how they play. You remember when Branch was here and then went to seattle? He fell off the earth. I am not saying he would be good here, but I have seen guys go to another team and have more success based on their play style fit.

Which is what makes arm strength. people think QB's throw 50 yard bombs 10 times a game, they dont, that kind of pass maybe happens about 10 times a year. Arm strength is about fitting balls into tight places and making those 15 yard outs drill in there so they are not picked, and those 15-20 yard darts in tight coverage, that is arm strength and like I said, he does it as well as anyone.

He might be hot garbage, but let's look at the issues:

Caught in a numbers game
Short guy stuck with a short QB
Given the longer developing routes while playing with a QB who's skittish about time in the pocket

Harry was not the major problem. Myles Bryant was and the coaching staff didn't dress anyone else to replace him (like Butler replaced Arrington). That was the major issue. No idea why so many on PatsFans like to blame a bad draft pick which was a minor issue in the game. Concentrate on the major issues if the Pats hope to bounce back.

LOTS OF CAPS DO NOT TURN A MINOR ISSUE INTO A MAJOR ISSUE. CONCENTRATE ON FIXING THE MAJORS TO WIN GOING FORWARD.
JC not making the pick (and yes, it would not have been an easy play, but people have really been effusive about his play all season long) was as big a game changer as whatever Harry did or did not do, IMO. Big time players make that pick, IMO. Just a symptom that it wasn't our day yesterday.

I have to be honest, if they kept that flag, that would have been a very week roughing call. He touched Mac's back and then tried to keep him from falling. People were acting like he suplexed him into folder tables.
To be honest, Mac flopped like Lebron James

I mean I have no problem with that, lol, I didnt see it till last night, but I was looking at twitter and you would have thought, the guy was stabbing in the face with a butcher knife. It looked like he was just trying to push him out and it was barely a push and then he tried to keep him from going down. I mean have I see that called? yeah probably, but a no call was not some horrible disgrace to the NFl

I know that unless they win, then the refs cheated. lol I get what you are saying, but the term that was their superbowl implies that a team is horrible and not going anywhere and won a game they shouldnt have because they went crazy for a game, that is not what this was. This was a big game for two good teams.
I absolutely agree. This is beyond though. I mean, it's not just nuns and church going women thinking Diggs shouting S--- M- D... to kids is the greatest thing ever, but a lot of stuff I've never seen before, and that's saying a lot because I am around the crazy all the time, and because I listen to 550 WGR regularly so I know the schtick.

Ok this complaining about the refs is really starting to bother me. It’s selective memory at its worse. The drive at the end of the half where the refs picked up that unnecessary roughness on Mac? Well that drive was only even still happening because the Bills committed a roughing the passer on a Mac incompletion on 3 and 10. It was a valid call, but it was pure luck that the Bills were so stupid as to do that because the Pats were about to punt. Caught a break then got screwed. Evens out.
I agree with Parcells when he said your are what your record says you are.

Nothing more, nothing less.

This team totally shut down BUF two weeks ago and played with intensity and toughness.

This team seems to have lost that edge after that game with the bye, then the IND game and now the 2nd BUF game.

We're a 9-6 team in a good position to get a WC game.

That's who we are.

Hopefully we find that edge again and kick JAX and MIA's ass and go into the playoffs strong, but it's far from assured.

We talk a lot about the WRs here, and we should. Not having the middle-deep guy probably cost multiple SBs during the Brady era. But that conversation needs to shift just a bit, now. This offensive system works best when it's got a "quicks" slot WR who can bust open right away. And that receiver is currently not on the team.
Yeah I'll have to agree on that one. Going into the season I felt like that guy was Meyers, but at this point it feels a little bit like a square peg in a round hole to some extent. They're "making it work" and Meyers has been OK, but I definitely get the feeling that having a more Edelman/Welker-esque player and having Meyers be more of a general #2 WR would be better...

The announcer said it best though. Intent has nothing to do with the rule. What he did was actually dangerous because Jones's leg bent back. And afterward he had to get rid of the knee brace because it dislodged. We all know what Hughes was trying to do. Does that have anything to do with what happens to the player getting yanked back though?

The last thing I want to do is turn this into a Brady discussion, but Sports Science said Brady throws the ball with more velocity than any QB. It's one thing to throw it around in a non game situation to show off your arm (Jeff George had a cannon), but it's a completely different thing to throw it in a game where your mechanics are so good, you're so adept at setting your feet, reading the defense, a quick release, so much accuracy, that you can provide some extra zip on your throws. That's what Brady used to do. It's why ESPN Sports Science measured the velocity on his balls and said he was the hardest thrower in the NFL.

A lot of this thread is about the future but given the cap numbers and the need to sign key players like JC Jackson, we may not see a huge improvement next year in the rest of the team outside QB.

Jonathan Jones and Van Noy getting cut would actually give a lot more space (like $10m) but no one else is going to save the team money.

So, we're really looking at and hoping for big improvements from players that had a minor part this year, like Uche, Winovich, Perkins, Jonnu Smith.

Also expecting Mac Jones to make a big jump and have even more command of the offense next year.

If we're better next year, it will largely be with the current cast.

Just hoping we can grab a CB in the draft.

Its true, and yes if it was called it would have been fine, but honestly I wish refs would take more into account on things, thats why I like rules where they do not have to guess at ****. I am just saying I have seen way way worse things with intent than this from the way it was described before I saw the play.

I am not sure they can pay or will pay jackson. Its just not the pats DNA, they always feel like they can get two guys to replace you. Its frustrating over the years but hard to argue with results.

train gunner for the role.

it’s decision making and accuracy that are the more important traits for a QB…
