Not even close. Mac won't throw it as much either.

Herbert is a playmaker. Same category as Allen.

Mac is not in the category- yet.
Well that too, but it also says that Herbert was looked upon to be more of a reason they won or lost as well. Bill wanted to run the ball and play defense to win games this year. Throwing Mac out and saying hey win us games is not exactly a good gameplan right now.

I am sorry, but the Brady fans are now going too far. Jones is fine as a rookie.

Look at him compared to Russell Wilson who had one of the best rookie seasons ever. Wilson had 3118 yards, 26 TDs, and 12 INTs. Even if you add 489 yards and 4TDs rushing. Yes, it is better than what Jones will end up with, but not exponentially.

Jones is going to finish the year with an excellent rookie record. Maybe if he was a fourth year pro, it would be mediocre numbers. But we are looking at rookie here.

Not sure if you are being intentionally stupid. The comparison is with another rookie who was a first year bust and is now the next John Elway. Ergo, the first year may well be a train wreck. Means nothing. Mac hasn't been anywhere near a train wreck but some Pink Hats are gleefully writing him off. By your own logic, Justin Herbert is also irrelevant but you have mentioned him in another attempt to rubbish the Pats QB. As I said, what's your plan? Draft another QB? Improve mechanics? Sign Andy Dalton? What?
Stupid? You are comparing two different players one two different teams to say that Mac will be great like Allen because allen was not good his rookie season. That in fact is actually stupid. A pink hat is someone who thinks everyone wearing their teams uniform is hall of fame...like you for example. Im telling you that Allen's rookie year and Mac's rookie year have nothing at all to do with each other on how Mac will be in this league. God people how long have you watched football? Do you know how many QB's people thought would be great based on a few games that turned into crap and how many QB's that came out playing bad that turned into hall of famers there has been? None of them have anything to do with each other. You are saying because allen was bad then good that means Mac is fine, yeah sorry dummy, thats now how football works. You become good or great because of what you do, not what some other QB does. So take your little insults and go actually research how football works and come back.

The plan is what exactly happened. Jones played, he was not asked to win us games, and he didnt lose us many games. Boom successful rookie season. What he becomes after that, nobody knows and its not based on what another QB did 3 years ago.

Who said Jones was not fine as a rookie? What the hell does this have to do with Brady? Do you know what the best thing Jones did this year? He didnt lose us a lot of games. Thats what he was supposed to do. He did his job for what he was asked to do.

Pretty sure these posters for whatever reason can't get over Brady leaving and just want to watch the team burn. Why? No idea...

You literally use Herbert every single post to disparage Mac Jones. But looking at Josh Allen a rookie year as an example not to judge a player by their rookie year can't be used?

By the same token you can't say Mac Jones will be horrible based on his rookie year. Which actually had been pretty decent. Just like any of the other rookie QBs.

I'm not sure how saying Mac Jones has had a decent rookie year somehow has become blasphemy.

Yeh, yeh. So what's you plan for the QB position? It's ok to admit you don't have one.

It never was the plan because that is not how BB believes QBs should be developed.

I literally used herbert because Herbert was brought up...I never said Mac will be anything based on anything, can you people actually read?

Yeah the board has way too high expectations for a rookie QB. But he needs to work on some things in the off-season and Bill needs to get him a legit separating WR. Agholor is a #2 at best and Myers is a #3 at best.

Where did I mention Brady? I compared Jones to one of the best rookie QB performances ever to show he isn't that far off from it.

None of what you said made sense so I ignored it. Cheers!
Yeah sorry, but I can only explain it to people who actually understand reality of football, no fantasy land where a white knight is drafted and takes us to the promise land.

Was literally in the first line of your post...

You know what? I think I would like to see the Pats get someone like JuJu Smith Shuster at the slot. I think if they had a well above average slot receiver, it would make a world of difference especially with Jones being such a fast processor with a quick release.

Is this satire or real? If that's the case with Jones after 14 games. Then Trevor Lawrence, Justin fields, Trey Lance and Zach Wilson must all be the biggest busts of all time.

Because they all have worse stats in every category than Jones.
You're forgetting the "eye test"
