It doesn't matter that we have no "all-pro level offensive weapons". We won 3 SBs without them.
There is no new offensive scheme.
Was gronk all pro? Was clock Killin Dillon an all pro back? There is a new offensive scheme open your eyes! Mac isn't just going to forget how to play qb..

Look around the NFL most of the teams with WINNING records have something in common a all pro type offensive player! Last I checked 12 is in Tampa Bay, the first 3 titles the all pros were on defense!

Justin Fields can develop into a superstar. Some of us wanted him more than Lance, Wilson or Jones in that draft. It is clear why.

He can be as good as Lamar Wilson, perhaps even better.

He's a big problem for teams.
That's a bold statement (assuming you meant LJackson). If he can stay healthy (and get past growing pans), that's definitely possible.

Yeah, #12 is in Tampa Bay... at 3-5... not sure what your point is there.

Guess which receiver Mac threw it to on this play?
This is an example of horrible play design.

The Jets sell out on the run. Mac executes a perfect fake. He's rolling to the left so you know he's not throwing right. The WRs on the right, their job is to block and hold up the DBs.

This picture is also totally misleading. It looks like Mac is getting ready to throw here. But that's not what's happening. He's actually tucking the ball because this is a designed run. He has the option to throw. When he sees the spy on him, he lets up, but he throws the ball ultimately much closer to the LOS. Both Meyers and Henry are stationary by this time getting ready to block for the run.

Now look at the middle of the field. It is wide open, TD.

On a play like this, Meyers should've been coming across the middle. That's a TD.

But horribly bad play design.

You fake a roll Mac on a clear run, and the Jets leave absolutely no safeties in the middle of the field? Please.

2001 & 2003 & 2016 - There were no ALL-PRO weapons on the Offense. (Gronk was injured in 2016)

My eyes are open. You should probably stop your yapping now because there is no new offensive scheme. Unlike YOU, I listen to guys like Dante Scarnecchia who flat out stated that the "Outside Zone Blocking" isn't new for the Pats O-line.

Maybe you should actually read my statements because I didn't say Mac forgot how to play QB. However, Mac is making glaring mistakes that a QB of his caliber should not be making. And I listed them in a separate post. Feel free to dazzle everyone with your football acumen and show how what I stated in that post was incorrect.

Yes, sorry. Jackson.

I say that because I think Fields is a top notch runner on the level of Murray and Jackson.

But he has a better arm and is more accurate that Jackson.

He has horrible command of the pocket and looks lost out there a lot of the time. But if he grows into the position, look out.

He doesn't have a point. He made a bogus statement and is grasping at straws in a ridiculous attempt to justify it.

Can't believe the Pats are in 9th place (8th place if you take away the Jets who are clearly going to implode without Breece) and only 2 spots away from a playoff spot. If CIN turns into the Bungles tomorrow, they're basically in 7th place.

Of course, after the next 2 games, the schedule looks f'ing brutal.

How is Henry getting ready to block when he's looking back at Mac?

Judon, Stevenson and Folk are literally the only top half of the league players at their positions.
Come on, this is wrong.

Onwenu has been excellent, Damien Harris, Jakobi Meyers, Barmore, Dugger, Jack Jones, even Wise. We have much more than the 3 you mentioned.

I didn't say he's getting ready to block.

I said when Mac turns upfield to run he IS blocking.

Here he is clearing out for Mac.

This was a designed run.

And they put Zappe in play action far more than Mac. Why? Because we saw him from the shotgun near exclusively last week in the second where he absolutely sucked. Far worse than Jones. So maybe we play Zappe on downs where they play play action and Jones on plays they are in shotgun.

Again, they aren't giving Jones enough play action plays. That's not on him. That on the play calling.

I do love how you think Mac sucks because they don't do the play action this year even though he was great at it this year and the reason they don't call play action for him is he sucks at it. Where is your proof? What are his numbers out of play action?
I couldn't find his numbers out of play action. But they can't be great if they are running it so little. Especially with the advantage it gives the offense.

You are talking about a rookie with 1/2 of bad play against a Bears team that came prepared. Zappe has played better than Mac in every game.

Mac isn't doing a lot of things well since the Colts game from last season. Just look at thr results, he has over double INT to TD's. Zappe is running the offensive concepts much more efficiently than Mac even with the 1/2 against the Bears where he fell apart. But rookies are going to have rookie games sometimes.

It’s funny how Zach Wilson, who’d led the Jets to 4 straight wins heading into this game, is being compared to Ryan Leaf on this board. He made poor decisions, but can we give the defense credit for forcing poor decisions and making him pay for them?! We’re 4-4, about where I figured after week 8. Man, this board can be such a downer sometimes, yeah we’ve got lots of work to do, but we’re far from the 2008 Detroit Lions as some would have you believe

Ty Montgomery hasn't done anything this year. Him being back doesn't do anything for the offense that they don't already get out of Stevenson.

Mac's issues have been: (in no particular order)

- Not going through his progressions properly (either locking on to players, rushing his progression or taking to long)
- The only consistent thing has been his not seeing open receivers
- his footwork has been worse than last year
- still taking bad sacks (worse than last year)

The Pats need to give Mac more Play-Action. Especially when RHAM or Harris have broken off several good plays.

I don't know what they need to do during practice to get Mac to look for the open receiver, but they need to do something.
I think they aren't giving him more play action because they don't want him turning his back to the defense. His field vision has been so poor, that's even less time to make a decision

I didn't say he's getting ready to block.

Sorry, Man. That just isn't what happened on that play. At all.

Henry only turned up field after he gets to the sideline and he never once engages anyone to block.

It's an RPO. Mac missed Henry who was open for the first down. Mac had Henry looking RIGHT AT HIM waiting for the pass that never came.

Point is 12 isn't here is why we were able to overcome not having elite talent, so that's my point even though I feel I did not need to make one should be pretty obvious..
