People in the game day threads were pretty bad as far as how negative they were about the team throughout the game.. i ended up leaving the thread for most of the game because of how negative some people were about every single play

Agreed. I left & came back.
I DO like the insight on plays that some provide but the SNR can be too low with the loud negativity.
I don't mind and actually enjoy guys being hilarious with sarcasm or earned criticism.
Again if it's hyperbole, it can be fun but folks who have a unrelenting fixation against a player or the way Pats run things get old fast.
A little game thread goes a long way.

Game thread: "the defense can't get any pressure on Dalton!"
Reality: NE is constantly pressuring Dalton and forcing him to use his mobility to evade the pass rush.
The problem is less the pass rush per se, but the lack of an inside rush when not blitzing one of the LBs up the middle. Losing both Easley and Hicks hurt in that department. There was a reason Belichick showed interest in Nick Fairley during the offseason.

Inside pressure will get better when Valentine gets healthy. He's been very solid in that regard this year, best rookie at creating interior pressure

Who they absolutely should have signed instead of Knighton.

Pats might have found something with Elandon Roberts.

Hope so, my concern is if his body will hold up to the pounding as he is undersized.

He has already been forced out of a couple games with injuries.

They moved on to Knighton after Fairley picked the Saints over the Patriots (and Texans). He signed a one-year deal worth three million with a 2.235 million signing bonus.

Out of character? I thought he was just defending his friends/home turf...just like he would any other time. But he was sick so....maybe he should get sick more often.

And you fail to leave out who I was responding too.

And people wonder why Gronkowski was out of character today?

Yeah, I'm convinced that everything got chippy when that **** happened and I'm mostly ok with it. You don't want penalties but you also don't want the other team thinking that they can cheap shot our guys and nobody will care.

I am too. Some players try to play bully and it always doesn't work when they get punched in the mouth. I'm glad Gronk let it be known he didn't appreciate players going for his knees or his team mates. Outperformed and out smacked them.2 for 1
