Those clamoring for tackles aren't even asking why his own coach didn't recommend him over a punter. This is ridiculous. They aren't going to draft players that they don't think can play.
I don't think so, which is what makes moving up for the kicker even more of a head scratcher move. Folk hit over 85% of his kicks last year. We didn't need a kicker in the early 4th round.
Yet the analyst on NFL channel said he personally had conversations with more than 2 teams that they were absolutely taking Andrews in the 5th round. So according to Brugler's, the only guy who is even in the neighborhood of the 4th round is Sidy Sow? I've seen him ranked as UDFA by other draft guides, but let's give it to Brugler's and assume Sow went where he should, that doesn't excuse the other reaches.
If you wanted fringe backup players why not just take Andrews and Ryland in the 6th when we have THREE 6th round picks?
This doesn't negate the assertion that we made a lot of REACHES in round 4 and essentially went for backup quality players rather than go for players that could be potential contributors to the 1st team or regular rotation players.
A kicker in the 4th round, just feels really hard to defend, especially since the Patriots actually spent two picks to move up for him. If he gets cut in training camp then this pick just becomes silly indefensible.
And I don't see how anyone can defend Andrews pick who has no business being taken in round 4.
Folk misses anything over 40 yards, he is too weak to kickoff.I don't think so, which is what makes moving up for the kicker even more of a head scratcher move. Folk hit over 85% of his kicks last year. We didn't need a kicker in the early 4th round.
Take a fckng athlete, I don't give a rats azz if they're "raw" like Bryce Wheaton or Kuntz... take a damn athlete!!!!!!!
So now you understand the need for drafting IOLYou asked me to name a guard after that. Again, you can go through the depth chart last year and point out the ****ty guards they had. We've all been here, we all know who was on the team.
It's this kind of hype crap that Kayshon bought into down here. My post got bypassed quick, but he's just not that good! And I went to LSU and watch every game every season.
Listen any time you have he's you know, any time you have a coach that's a Bill Belichick, that's a coach that's the greatest coach of all time. The goat, isn't that what they say? Listen, they made some good picks, they made some picks I'm sure they'd want back. They came in and I was the 46th pick overall and I was selected at 46, and everything else, that's for you guys to write about. We're on to New England.
At the Senior Bowl the coaching seemed to make a difference, as his hang time was much better than at MSU.My only concern about Bryce is that he lacks hang time on his punts. He has plenty of leg. As for Chad, we could have had him with one of our 6th rounders and I'd have been fine with that pick, but as a 4th+ it was clearly a reach.
I can agree with that. It's just that some posters were wondering why he fell from a top 10 pick to a sixth rounder. I was just trying to explain what we LSU fans experienced with him to give some perspective.I don't think anyone bypassed what you said. They could just be taking your opinion with a grain of salt because you seem to be ignoring that Boutte isn't even 21 yet. Whereas many of the other players are 23 and 24.
I don't see anyone proclaiming Boutte some steal of the draft. I think he's a Boom/Bust type pick. He has potential to be a possession receiver on the outside like David Givens. A lot depends on his maturity and whether he can get confidence back in his ankle. If not, he'll be gone.
That's a given lol but we can't draft those replacements unfortunatelyI would add in special teams coaching.
He was pretty good in the 40s until this past year.Folk misses anything over 40 yards, he is too weak to kickoff.
Nice guy, glad we had him when we had nobody else, but we needed to bring in some talented competition for his job.
He may still win his job back. Rookies aren't to be trusted, until they prove they can be.
Iosivas to the Bengals.
