I would do the same for BB but that would be too confusing.
Hopefully this turns out better than the "I'm predicting the blowout" thread you made prior to the SB

"Best Ever" is confusing when referring to a QB other than Joe Montana.
What is it with all of this "homer" nonsense? I guess whenever a Pats fan has a Pats-biased idea that another Pats fan (or non-Pats fan) disagrees is, he's automatically a homer now. Why has that become the insult du jour? That expression jumped the shark before it even had on its leather jacket. It's pathetic and insulting and anyone who uses it is a meat head that can go sit on it.
This is stupid to even negotiate - Its Joe Montana #1 by far and a pack of others tied or close at #2 including Brady
When Brady wins another Super Bowl or two then you can talk - Right now thats pure Homer Insanity
The best QB of all time has never lost a Super Bowl so how you can rank Brady over Montana right now is mind bogling - When/If Brady wins 5, he nears Montana's neighborhood until then he lives across town in an apartment shared with Terry Bradshaw,Roger Staubach,Johnny Unitas and a host of others not mentioned.
Maybe we should start a poll asking who considers themselves a "homer". I know a year or two ago I asked what a "homer" was because that was being used back then too. No one had a real answer.
My question is, how can you love a team, be a fan of that team (root word fanatic), and not be a "homer"?
I'm a homer. I admit it. What does that mean, for me at least?
It means that the tuck was a "Tuck;" it means that the Giants, while the better team on the field that day, were lucky and don't belong in the discussion of the best two or three teams in the NFL today; it means that Ben Dreith should burn in Hades along with Jack Tatum and the Rat and the Herald...well, you get the idea.
It means that when people here in NYC try to tear down the Pats for Spygate (assuming they are rational and not Jets fans with beer drenched brains), I walk them through the facts as they were and not as the media and Specter portrayed them (not to open that can of worms here again though).
It means that when the discussion turns to BB, I make the case that he deserves to be in the debate, along with Brown and Lombardi and Walsh, as the greatest NFL HC ever, despite Spygate, and that I believe he is the best HC ever because he did what he did post Cap/FA.
It means that when the debate turns to "greatest QB ever," I argue that Montana might still be number one, but that TB belongs at the top of the list of those vying for number two with names like Bradshaw and Starr and Unitas and Staubach and Elway and Marino, because he did what he did with limited weapons for most of his career and post cap.
It means that when Dynasties are compared, I argue that the SB era needs to be divided into the pre and post Cap/FA eras and that the Brady/Belichick Pats are not only one of the greatest dynasties in the history of the game but, by far, the greatest in the post Cap/FA era, if, indeed, there is any team to which they could even be compared in that era.
Very well said!!
