If we are going to sign him then that means that Talib is going elsewhere. I don't see us signing both.

Is this a joke? Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Bruce Irvin, and then Clemons when he recovers...........

You dont think we can sign both? I think they will. The CB market has been set. I think we can sign both.

Yeah and for that kind of money too. But thank god the new KR will surely help rushing the passer or covering a receiver. Pats absolutely blew it so far. I understand that many franchises are money scrapped because of the cap but with restructuring Brady I thought they'd really try to adress some weaknesses. How naive of me

I wasn't saying that they can't afford it (in fact i think they can), I mean that i think it will be more of a "lets sign Cason to replace Talib" type of signing. Therefore they won't sign both even though they could.

Bennett to the seahawks... Ugh, I wanted him for the Pats.

Ok now the patriots can sign Vollmer Talib
Dhb cason or nmandi micheal huff and then I can go to sleep well.
I smell a trade coming maybe not revis but cruz or haden.
what about mallett to the bucs for a second and Benn?

I'm a big Ninkovich fan, but for 5 million that would of been a solid signing. For pass rush, only the three over the hill guys are left: Freeney, Abraham, Umenyiora. If one of them can come cheap in a backup/3rd down role I'm all for it.

Kudos to the Seahawks though. If that defense had one weakness, it was pass rush. That defense doesn't really have one weakness at this point.

Would you rather over spend on all of these FAs and not make the playoffs..or play it smart and be there in the end...unreal

By the time the Pats let the market die down who's gonna be left.

Spending money and collecting talent is not the same thing as building a team.

That's what I'm saying it's always good to have talented fresh bodys. I really believe that Jones will be a major force this season and Hightower the playmaking LB, but for that kind of money you simply have to have a go at him. I'm just frustrated because I had really high expectations. I thought with restructuring Brady and the value in the market they want to kill it this FA. Many of the good DBs are gone already. We haven't heard a thing about Vollmer or Talib. I just hope it's the calm before the storm. All the serious contenders got better.

CB Antoine Cason completed his visit to AZ. Cards need to create some space (ie Kolb) before they make another move. Other teams interested

so no deal with AZ yet

Who's saying spend on every free agent, or on all of these? I know free agency just started but how long can they afford to let the market cool down, moves need to be made sooner rather then later before all players who can make a solid impact are gone.

I just hope their is a plan in place because wow some teams are really improving.
How far can number 12 carry us on his back?

We have said the exact same thing every year except 07

"when will pats do something!?!!"
"Season is over..."
"this team sucks so bad"

happens every FA...and guess what..we are always near or headed to AFC champ game every year...

I know but this D needs TALENT. I don't trust them in drafting good players in positions of need that are CB, S and WR. I'm sorry for actually having an opinion. If you think they can draft well enough and don't need some good FAs fine but after so many seasons watching the secondary getting torched and this rich DB market I thought it would be different.
