NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION OFFICIAL NFC CHAMPIONSHIP THREAD - Buccaneers at Packers

Not necessarily a dumb move for letting Brady go. It was dumb for not having a viable backup plan at QB b4 letting him go.
well they had one, then brady decided to go superhuman and play forever lol.......and let's be honest, he had some role in jimmy G headed out of town

honestly, in today's salary cap era, BB held that team together as a contender for what, 18 years? I'm simply amazed they were able to pull that off, I can't complain that the numbers and age and such made it happen the way it has happened......there was NO way they could remain competetive, sign brady to another contract, AND remain competitive.....and let's be honest, to us AND to TB12 that means legit superbowl contender.......the numbers caught up to them, it just couldn't come together in a way that kept everyone happy, and that's ok

1st ever home SB that’s crazy!

Globally I agree but you remove him from this equation and the exact same team is not in the playoffs
Sure. If Fat Matt is HC they go 9-7.

With BB it's a 14-2 team

Rogers not running it in on the goal line was the wussiest thing I've seen in a long time, multiple 12 men on the field penalties by GB on third downs killed them... the D coordinator should be canned.

Great team win by the Bucs, all three phases played well.
i think he saw the defender to the inside on HIS side of the WR.......not sure he would have beat him to the corner

the FG call was iffy.......because if you miss it, it's TB ball pinned deep......and you still need a TD (and a 2 pt)......kick the FG and you STILL need a TD to win it?

i'd love to hear the logic.........i'm not ready to call for his head for it, but i want to hear the train of thought

Arians is such a blowhard.

“It only took this one man”?

It also took the 52 other players on the roster, of course.

Brady is the GOAT but there are 21 other players on the field at any given time, whether it’s your offense or defense.
I think he said it took the one man to change the team...? That rings somewhat true. But yeah, Arians is a blowhard.

I'd like to see the replay again, I think he could have run it in had he gone to the pylon, used a pump fake even. Even if he was stopped on the 1 or 2 it's a lot easier decision to go for it from there on 4th down.

Tom stays and they go 9-7 and get knocked out of the playoffs.

Wanting Tom is like having a Porsche and diving in a snowstorm
Even with this crap sandwich on offense, still feel like Brady could get this team to 10 or 11 wins, but probably lose against their first playoff matchup or if lucky, lose to KC in the AFC championship game.

I don't agree but moving on

no, i'm with you......rodgers is another one of those guys that has the view that they will win it or lose it with their arm.......i think him making it to the end zone might have been stopped short, but your point as to getting to the 1 or 2 is valid

might they have already made up their mind? if we don't get it here, we're kicking......rodgers knew that, wasn't sure he could make it, wanted to make the throw?

gotta think if he felt it was 4 down territory he runs it and even if he doesn't make it, they have options.......i've gotta think they had already decided to kick on 4th?

rodgers had two chances to run. either he scores, or he gets the ball closer to the endzone.

Kicking the field goal down 8 with 2 minutes to go is a horrible call.

At some point I'd love to hear about how exactly we should have built around him this year if he stayed with a 25m/32m cap hit.

Last I checked BB is the GM of the Patriots. And he failed to shop properly for groceries, failed to restock in the draft, failed to get the right free agents or make trades to bolster this talent deprived roster. How to afford Brady? Salary cap management is a question for BB the GM. But BB the GM said No Mas. BB the GM decided Brady was washed up and didn't even offer 2 years. And as usual Booby Kraft caved like a house of cards and backed BB rather than Brady.

And now we get to watch the Tampa Bay Bucs, formerly Doormats of the NFL, goto the EFFING Superbowl with Brady.

If you're on team bill over brady at this point then you don't believe in facts.
If you believe there's a competition between the two you're a child, if you think the Pats could afford to keep Brady you're a child with poor math skills, if you think Brady wanted to play on a team with a bunch of UDFA jags and 22 year olds after they had to let a bunch of other vets (Thuney, both McCourtys, Byrd, Elumenor & more) go you're a child on meth.

That call was weak but GB had many chances to win this game.

that's why i've got to think he was told before that play that they were kicking on 4th if they didn't get it in
