GRONK SMASH!!!!

Huge news! Can't wait to see him in preseason

I know Gronk is young (which helps a lot)but its amazing how far ACL
surgery has progressed.

Oops! I guess I am getting senile in my old age. He played 3 games and had 5 catches for 75 yards in the preseason after his ACL surgery in the 2010 preseason.

Ironically, it was 2009 where the Pats basically rested Welker for most of the preseason. That ended up being the season he suffers a major injury.

Yeah, we'll see. If Gronk is ready to go, I wouldn't mind seeing him play some snaps in the preseason just to shake the rust off and get comfortable. I'm just saying I wouldn't expect it. Welker was a freak. If Gronk is a freak, they'll probably let him play a few snaps in the third or fourth preseason game. Otherwise, I wouldn't expect him until Week 1.

If he can play a full 16 and payoffs. Thinking about it makes me very happy!

Gronk is ready to score 24tds this year

having Gronkowski on offense and Revis on defense to start the season makes me very happy! and should make other teams definitely scared

Belichick just confirmed in his press conference that Gronk has been cleared to practice.

Those of you who predicted that Gronk would either miss the first few games or start the year on PUP in my prediction thread are off to bad start with your predictions. Not that it is a bad thing since you being wrong is so good for the team.

But...but...Tanguay guaranteed that his Dad wouldn't let him play for /at least/ the first 8 games!!

If TJ Ward didnt go for Gronks knee, then he wouldnt have that ACL injury! I am glad that he was working out all offseason to be ready. I hope he sees the field this preseason, just to shake the rust off though. I am hoping the players on the PUP and NFI get to start practicing too as well.

Does anyone know the status of his arm ? Last year he had the big cast/brace thingy as he was said to still be suceptible to re-injury if he landed or got hit the in the wrong place. Is this arm still at risk or should time have helped that ? The arm took some direct shots last year so I'm hoping that was just precautionary.

pretty much,

Gronk didn't get hurt last season(twist an ankle, tear a quad running, break a finger going to the ground), he was taken out by a player launching helmet first at his knee...

Gronk was not the fist TE to be targeted for elimination last season, and he probably wont be the last this one.

I'm all for "shaking off the rust." I hope Gronk will play enough to get the inevitable new-knee jitters out of the way. (One of the biggest post-ACL risks is that players favor the injured leg, thus over-stressing the healthy one.)

This is why Dominique Easley's ahead of the game. He can't favor either of them.

Tanguay's old man should have been neutered.

Gronk is the greatest tight end of all time when healthy, hopefully he isn't too rusty. Just give us one fully healthy season and #4 is on the way.

You called it, Rob. Your optimism paid off. I have to admit, I thought we'd see him very early in the season (give or take a game or two), but I did not share your optimism about definitely being ready for week #1. I thought they may have taken a more cautious approach where we may not have seen him for another couple of weeks into the season, and a TC appearance in 2-3 weeks at best.

As others have said, ACL surgeries have come a long way. Great news, indeed!
