They refs have blown numerous calls.. Including the call against Solder, the 2 calls against Edelman, missing the delay of game against the Bills on their FG and a false start on the Bills.
The missed tackles and inability to get off the field on third down are real problems. The offensive penalties have killed several drives. Bolden dropped, and I mean dropped a pass. Sure Jacoby has missed some throws but no QB is perfect.
I mean just this current drive the Pats missed two huge sacks.
Brissett is clearly hampered by an injured thumb. He's playing because he is tough and he had to. The coaching staff were in a difficult position in that they had two QBs who they did not know if they would be healthy for this game. If they brought in a QB from off the street, how could they have prepared him? Garroppolo and Brissett needed reps as would the new QB would also have needed. Should they have sat G and B down and given this other QB reps while also hoping that G could have played? There's no right answer. Belichick gambled and he lost this round. Oh well, we are 3-1 with Brady coming back.
On the bright side, the defense and ST both settled down and settled into the game. A little bit, at least, the missed tackles were alarming but some of that has to just be credit to McCoy and Taylor. I'm sure the Pats will spent the next week working on that, and they need to. In the first half we were getting wrecked in all three phases, the second half has just been a **** display by the offense, which I'm confident will be fixed by Brady's return. A win would've been great, but the sky isn't exactly falling here. And if this buys Rex another couple years of job security, that's not the worst thing in the world either.
Actually it is hard to score when you keep starting 1 and 25. Or the rookie returner brings the ball back to the 10.
Also tough to score when the best pass you throw all day is dropped by a third string RB. Also tough to score when the first play of the game goes for 90 and gets called back.
Also tough to score when your All Pro kicker shanks a FG.
But whatever let's just blame the rookie QB that shouldn't even be playing. Sounds like a plan.
A lot of penalties today, Pat - 8 Buffalo - 6.....this crew really looks bad to me...I mean a lot worse than other crews. Going to be interesting to see if they officiate any more games that we play this year.
I think some fans thought they were top 5. I wouldn't even put them top 10. They are good , but just not elite. They have a lot weaknesses that could be exploited.
