Argument being made about Belichick not caring about the offense.
Just looked at a few things, one being amount of resources devoted to that side of the ball compared to the other side.
2023 draft: 5 offensive draft picks, 4 defensive, 3 special teamers
2022 draft: 7 offensive draft picks, 3 defensive
2021 draft: 4 offensive draft picks, 4 defensive
Overall last 3 years: 16 offensive, 11 offensive, 3 STs.
Free Agents and trades on offense: Jonnu Smith, Nelson Algholor, Hunter Henry, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Davante Parker, Kendrick Bourne, Mike Gesicki, Ezekiel Elliott, Trent Brown, Calvin Anderson, Riley Reiff, Vederian Lowe, Ty Montgomery.
Free Agents and trades on defense: Matthew Judon, Jabril Peppers, J Tavai, Mills, Mack Wilson Jr., Austin.
As many resources have been expended on offense as have been expended on defense.
Two big differences: one: you don't have a good QB and that means everything. And two: the fa/trades on defense have worked out with Judon, Peppers, Tavai, Mack Wilson Jr., while they haven't on offense.
