Again, people were calling for Brady to retire, calling him noodle arm...our defense was a lot better and kept us in more games, plus Brady was a lot better than Cam has been the last two weeks.
I honestly don't understand what belichick's plan was. Brady clearly is still a top quarterback yet he gave him complete crap receivers and forced him out the door.
So what does he do? He grabs Newton off the scrap heap, gives him the same exact group of receivers and tight ends and just pretends everything's going to be fine?
Brady has been really good. Better than I expected. I thought he would still could be an above average to very good QB, but he has been playing great the last 3-4 weeks. I will give him credit.
But the divorce was coming for a while now and there is no reason looking back now. There was no way he was going to stay. And there was little way Belichick was likely to keep him. And Brady on this team would not be Brady in Tampa right now. Brady has a lot of talent around him in Tampa. There isn't much here. And I don't even know if Edelman has anything left which at least Brady had him last year.
You have to wonder how much COVID affects you mentally. It does attack the brain, this is a completely different football player than the one we saw a month ago. He can't find the open receiver and when he does, the ball finds its way right into the ground

It's hard to fathom that we are only a few weeks from us literally almost beating the best team in the NFC(Seattle) and battling probably the best team in the NFL(KC) without Cam
I think Belichick got way too used to Brady bailing out his appallingly ****ty skill position drafting. I'm not even totally convinced this is Newton's fault, he's not helping but what QBs wouldn't look like trash playing with these scrubs?
I said it last year and I'll say it again, Brady had a very good year considering what he had to work with. Cam is showing what happens when you surround a QB with suspect accuracy with bad skill players. They are by far the worst in the NFL.
