LOL! You are arguing that Collins looks slow on the field and you are mocking my analysis of him?

Re-watch the game and look for the last guy to react on our defense. You'll be surprised.

Sure, he'll be a fantastic pick as long as you ignore his inability to get off blocks and his inability to tackle.

And don't forget he looks like he is moving in slow motion too.

It was the same as always with the supposedly great defensive players (Mayo and McCourty). Mayo had his feet stuck in the mud and couldn't tackle, and McCourty was invisible as usual.

Huh? Was that when he was moving in slow motion?

He didn't have a great game yesterday, but he was still one of the best players on the field for the Pats yesterday.

We have one great defensive player, and he'll be catching the first train out of town after this season.

So what you're saying is that McCourty was doing a good job, right? Because as the deep safety, his being invisible would testify to that effect.

Most of the time it is a good thing for a secondary player to be invisible. Mayo looked slow yesterday, but I chock that up to his first live action that he had since last October. Don't forget that he didn't play a down in the preseason.

Re-watch the game and I'll bet you change that opinion. The guy has the reaction time of an 80 year old, and he can't tackle.

It also could have been Darius Slay or Menelik Watson.

I pointed to the obvious alternatives based upon the needs that year (S/WR), which is the entire point.

David - coverage backer
Sanu - tallish WR, from Rutgers
Hiton - Burner
Randle - another tallish WR

I'm not a Randle fan, but he'd have been a better pick than Wilson, and he was an obvious alternative at that spot in the draft.

And stop with the "hindsight" argument. It's complete crap. This was stuff we'd all gone over prior to the draft.

That's not true. Revis is elite, but Mayo, Jones, and McCourty are great. Collins is potentially is going to be great this year. Wilfork, if he rebounds, is great.

Everyone keeps forgetting you know nothing about football.

OK, I gotta ask: Why do you bother?

I guess I have some free time. I also want to expose the one guy who agrees with Deus about Collins being a bad pick.

Exactly, IA pats fan and his contingent of trolls are just looking for attention.

That is all they have in their sad lives.

McCourty is perfect if you want the invisible man out there. Nowhere to be found, zero impact. Mayo, probably had something like 7 tackles and will end up with 100+ by the end of the year, but so what?

Fair enough. I was disagreeing on his posts until it dawned on me that I disagree with every single one of his posts. I thought indicating as much might be a little excessive, though.

None of the three you mentioned are great. I chuckle at the Collins suggestion. You are correct on Revis.

How long will the Pats have to go with a mediocre-bad defense before people realize the guys who make up this defense are not "great"?

Oh, wait. Mayo did have a sack, with the weakest tackle attempt I've ever seen. Good job Jerod.

Did you not see Hightower get flagged on his attempt to tackle the quarterback?

You, um, do realize those guys were all drafted the year before Collins was, right?
