Thought I'd make one topic like last year's instead of having discussion across many topics.

Will Vrabel make the announcement for the remaining 23 this morning like he did last week?

A little surprising, but let’s see who’s coming in as reserves.

Eff it they are giving Chism snaps at tackle aren’t they.
That’s why Vrabs kept talking about his play strength.
They weren’t going to keep 5 tackles. It’s Lowe and Bryant as the backups. Will Jacobs be a PS guy if he unclaimed is the question.

Wow. Thought it would be Romo sticking here.

Well Romo was better in the preseason games, but those made up a very very small sample size. We need to remember it is so few kicks. To base who should win the job heavily on such a small sample probably isn't the best idea. It should be looked at, but practice probably has to play a larger part in this.

Thinking about it - Borregales had a bad miss in game 3 but other than that the two kickers were close so advantage to the younger draftee. Maybe not as much of a surprise.

I think all (most?) of his misses were partially attributable to snap-hold. If true, he may have upper hand there as well. Romo seemed to have slightly more distance; but does that come with aging / full-time practice. (???)

They were neck and neck in camp from what we heard. The distinction was the 60 yarder Romo hit against the Vikings and the awful shank Borregales followed up with. Big thing for him was that he hit a 45 yarder on his next try, so he didn’t let it get into his head.

He had a lot of kickoffs into the end zone against the Giants, which he didn’t the prior 2 games while Romo clearly messed up one against the Vikings. Based on this, I’m assuming he was instructed to kick into the end zone against the Giants (minimize injuries, put the defense in a tougher position to evaluate them better).
