The fact that it isn’t true i supposeRespectfully, what part of “Cam Robinson was objectively WORSE than Vedarian Lowe by a LOT” makes you want to pay him $20 plus MM/yr?

I think the frustration is they talked about building around Drake, putting talent around Drake and much like last year thus far they have swung and they have missed or felt players were pricing themselves out of the range.
Let me be clear I love Mikes strategy of getting guys who want to be there and buy in. He said if they want to be there and be a part of it they will make the contracts work.
I believe the reports saying they were hesitant to make DK the highest paid player on the team is accurate.
Mike is going for culture and teamwork and quality men.
That’s all great, you also need to find playmakers so our promising franchise QB can make plays and build a walk around him to protect him.
Talent wise I love what the Bears are doing for Caleb Williams building a whole new O line around him and they filled the WR cupboard last year.
Now if Polk and Baker can become playmakers we are in a much better spot, however those are huge Ifs and I am terrified of taking a WR other than Hunter in this draft expecting them to be a difference maker.
That’s where the frustration is the front office is thus far not living up to their promises of building around Maye and giving him all the resources, when we certainly have the cap to outbid any teams offer.
So it’s a balance of wanting guys who want to be there and be a part of it but also having the talent to sniff the playoffs.
I agree 100 percent that is the best way long term. That’s a reasonable take, but you still can’t get what isn’t there. The Patriots clearly wanted to address left tackle and WR, that’s why they tampered with Ronnie Stanley, and would have made him the highest paid left tackle in free agency. And they also offered Godwin far more than he was worth. But after that they saw absolutely nothing worth investing big and long term in. So what do you do then? You move on to other areas of need that you actually can address, and they did just that, adding good players on the defensive line, at linebacker, at cornerback, at Edge, and at right tackle. Not a bad day of work if you ask me.
Now they still have to address Left Tackle and WR. But the problem is that you don’t want to lock yourself into deals with mediocre players for 3-4 years, or big money, so you have to be disciplined and not overpay them, or give them too long a deal, because you are hoping to replace them by the time you are a playoff team. I know I sure as hell don’t want Cam Robinson playing starting left tackle for them in 2027, and I don’t want Stefon Diggs or Amari Cooper to be Mayes starting receivers in 27’. So if they can get guys at reasonable money who they can get rid of easily in two years that’s what they should be signing, but other than scrubs that’s not easy to do. And if they sign scrubs people will complain about that as well.
The bottom line, at least in my opinion, is that they have to find their long term answers for Left Tackle, and Wide Receiver in the Draft. And they have to hit in those picks, because they will be the guys you want starting in 26’, 27,28’….. And if they do fix those holes long term in the draft then this offseason will have been an A+ offseason. And another one like it will set them up in contention for many years to come. And that’s the real goal.
I agree 100 percent that is the best way long term.
I guess the thought is if we would overpay for a better than average WR or Left tackle we have a better shot of Maye being successful.
Now I’ll admit that’s looking at this at a 2 season window.
But to build a contender, for the long term, the formula is team first guys sprinkled in with young superstars,
They can def have the tackle of their choice in the draft if that’s what they want.
But all the tackles have question marks in this draft, chances of Hunter or Carter being there is a small miracle.
Nightmare scenario for us is Ten takes Ward, Cle takes Carter, NYG takes Hunter.
If Sanders is there I’m trading the pick and bullding up resources for this year.
Look at their pressures given up.The fact that it isn’t true i suppose
Look at their play, their run blocking, sacks, penalties. Look at Robinson aside from 2 games when he was injured. Look at Lowe try to play T.Look at their pressures given up.
I do not think it will be an enormous upgrade but would make me feel more comfortable having Robinson on the squad. I got the following from PFF (I know their ratings are **** but they had the info I was looking for. I wanted to put them side by side because I needed to see it.Look at their play, their run blocking, sacks, penalties. Look at Robinson aside from 2 games when he was injured. I am excited to see Lowe work with Marone, but like I said would feel more comfortable with Robinson on the team. I think the problem is that Robinson has a higher valuation of himself that the Pats and other teams have. Same with Jenkins

Talent at WR? Not so much at the top of the draft. There's maybe 3-4 with a 1st round grade if you include Travis Hunter. I would rather we focus on the OL since we have already drafted 4 WRs in the past 2 years. If Drake is the real deal than he should be capable of making it work with what he's got given the time.Never expected to sign Kupp. Plenty of talent in the draft. Hoping Vrabel breaks the run of terrible picks in that regard. Can't get any worse than Thornton, Harry and Co.
Willing to give Polk and the other 2nd year players a chance with better coaching too. (1) more year. That's it.
Doug Marone, Vrabel's OL coach, drafted Robinson when he was HC in Jacksonville. I trust he's got a good idea of what he's worth. He's not Amari Cooper. He's the best available starting left tackle in free agency. We're not talking about a WR on his last legs who looked washed last season. We're talking about the best free agent left tackle who can improve our roster right now.
We would fill a huge need on the OL with a starter in Cam Robinson so we can take BPA in the draft.
25m is top 5 money for a left tackle now, but by the time the contract is up that will be normal starter expected pricing as the cap goes up each year. Don't be afraid to spend money when it can help Drake Maye a ton now. Would you rather see him take Andrew Luck career trajectory because you were afraid to spend free agent dollars on a ready made left tackle?
Issac TeSlaa is the binky I want the most as a late dart throw.Talent at WR? Not so much at the top of the draft. There's maybe 3-4 with a 1st round grade if you include Travis Hunter. I hope to take a flier on someone late like JaCorey Brooks or Isaiah Neyor.
Let's hope he's providing some input. But in the end he's only the OL coach. Vrabel and Wolf will make the calls on roster acquisition.Doug Marone, Vrabel's OL coach, drafted Robinson when he was HC in Jacksonville. I trust he's got a good idea of what he's worth.

Is there a second PFF that I don't know about? Where did you come up with 15 QB pressures for the entire season? He gave up 9 in week 18 alone.
PFF assigned FIFTY-TWO pressures to Robinson in 2024, which is 140th out of 141 OTs.
