Stop panicking everything is fine though

Enough with the premature exclamation kiddo.
It's not even St Paddy's Day ffs, if this is the team come Labor Day there'll still be time to panic.

I'm shocked I'm in a minority.

I’m not thrilled with it, but I’m hoping they’ll address it somehow before the start of the season.

Wolf said that during the season, every time there was a breakdown on the line and Drake took a sack, he felt like he was taking the sack. If he says that and then goes through another offseason of not addressing LT, I’ll pay a good portion of the billboard outside Foxboro calling for him to be fired.

Vrabel is calling the shots, not Wolf.

No it's a get me something/anything better than Lowe thing.
Well realistically who did we not get that would have been better and also not a stupid move? The backup from SF? The guy Pittsburgh laughed out of town who hit $84 million?

I think we are still in on Robinson ( personally I think we are the only ones still in) and there is still the draft.

“Get me anyone” as a free agency plan is a devastating approach for a team.

People who suck at their job always make accountability acceptance speeches like that.
It’s not a sign he cares, it’s a sign he is guilty.

I think we're in on him too and he's realizing he doesn't have much of a market beyond us.

I also think that the team likes Lowe better than a lot of people on this board.

It's not as simple as having the money to spend. If you give absurd money to undeserving players, all you do is make it harder to sign or extend players in the future.

Players and agents don't care about cap space, they care about what you're willing to pay. An agent sees you give Robinson a $100 million contract, he won't care in the slightest WHY you did it. All that matters to him is THAT you did it. His client (who might be twice the player Cam is) isn't signing for 10% of that simply because you no longer have as much cash to spend.

We can afford to pay Amari Cooper $25 million this year, but what happens if we do, then Douglas and Boutte put up much better stats than him this season? You've pretty much screwed yourself in wanting to extend them.
He's not Amari Cooper. He's the best available starting left tackle in free agency. We're not talking about a WR on his last legs who looked washed last season. We're talking about the best free agent left tackle who can improve our roster right now.

We would fill a huge need on the OL with a starter in Cam Robinson so we can take BPA in the draft.

25m is top 5 money for a left tackle now, but by the time the contract is up that will be normal starter expected pricing as the cap goes up each year. Don't be afraid to spend money when it can help Drake Maye a ton now. Would you rather see him take Andrew Luck career trajectory because you were afraid to spend free agent dollars on a ready made left tackle?

Agree on the first, disagree on the second.

Marone drafted Robinson and coached him for 5 years. I think we have him evaluated perfectly and will work it out.

If they like Lowe that much he’d have a contract.

Offensive FA targets I’m still interested in:

OL
- Tyron Smith
- Cam Robinson
- Joseph Noteboom
- Teven Jenkins
- Brandon Scherff
- Dalton Risner

WR
- Tyler Lockett
- Brandin Cooks
- Elijah Moore
- Keenan Allen
- Josh Reynolds
- DJ Chark

These are both solid lists. In addition to this, I'd also be interested Justin Simmons as another signing at safety to serve as a stop-gap with hopefully a draft pick invested at the position as well.

From those players, I think ideally we should sign 2 OL if possible (1 tackle + 1 interior lineman) plus 1 WR (Lockett, Moore and Allen intrigue me the most). An Aiyuk trade to me seems like the best realistic option for improvement at WR, but I would want that on top of signing one of the above players.

My remaining free agency wishlist:
FS - Simmons
WR - Aiyuk trade
WR signing from the list above
1 OT + 1 IOL from the list above

Then biggest priority at the draft would be an OT since we are not getting any long-term solutions through free agency.

I don't care if Cam Robinson wants money. That's the one thing we have plenty of and too little talent. Give him 3/75 or 4/100 and get him in here!
Respectfully, what part of “Cam Robinson was objectively WORSE than Vedarian Lowe by a LOT” makes you want to pay him $20 plus MM/yr?

Being the best available at a position doesn't automatically make someone worth top 5 money. I do hope we get Robinson but I'm not going with the "any price, no matter what!" strategy.

Even with what you said about Cooper, name a better available WR at the moment. That's why best available means doesn't make someone special.

We need a kicker and have the money. That doesn't mean we should make Slye the highest paid kicker in the league.

Careful with that strategy Mayo didn't get more than a year why would Vrabel think he can just kick the can until next year. This offense isn't capable of getting to 6-7 wins.
1) Wait for the draft to say that for sure
2) The defense is upgraded enough to get to 6-7 wins, and I think even if they had nailed every blessed thing this offseason, they're a 7-win team.

The people thinking they're going to be immediate contenders after the severe hole Mayo left us in, are actually insane.

I would not mind having him
Marrone drafted and coached him. So he has the intel on him
Rumor is he can get lazy
That is why the Patriots are trying to give him a lucrative contract but with incentives
If you just give him a huge cash contract and he is a lazy player. That spells trouble
Since he has not got a big contract from anyone yet. Those rumors must be true
If Cam thinks he is a motivated player. Then he’ll hit the incentives
Otherwise we can have another Trent Brown on our hands

I know people want to focus on Robinson’s stats from last year (and really just his stats after he got traded), but he was significantly better than Lowe for the rest of his career so far. He has far more upside than Lowe, too.
