Just food for thought haha

Last year Lowe ranked 102/141 for overall OT grade on PFF. It was a more respectable 62/141 as a pass blocker and dreadful 132/141 as a run blocker.

They also absolute bottom of the barrel players at LG (Jordan/Robinson), Center (Ben Brown) and RT (Jacobs) alongside him. That made it really hard to help Lowe at LT and he was probably their best pass blocker so he's not the first guy to get help anyway. They're reportedly active in the Guard market so LG could be improved soon. Strange at Center should be better than Ben Brown. They added Moses who's an improvement at RT.

The question they have to ask themselves is that if you brought the rest of the line to respectability, how much does that elevate Lowe? It seems like a lost cause as a run blocker, but he could be a decent enough pass blocker maybe that he doesn't get Maye killed. I don't think it's absurd that he could be ok as a stop gap if they can't address it in the draft.

This is misleading. PFF's pass blocking grading for Cam Robinson for every year other than 2024 is above average to well above average.

From their free agent rankings on Robinson:

20. T Cam Robinson, Minnesota Vikings

Robinson was part of a Jaguars team that had a dismal start to 2024. But individually, he was a reliable option at left tackle before being acquired by the Vikings at the trade deadline. His 95.1 pass-blocking efficiency rating this regular season was the worst mark of his career, but if anything, that's a testament to his play over the past four years.

Top free agent comparison: Russell Okung, 2016

If Bedard is going to use PFF for his point, he needs to use all the information and not just the information he wants to use.

But that would ruin his Hot Take (tm).

We have 2 inhouse candidates in Sow and Robinson, both of whom have flashed talent and could be coached up.
or could perform as poorly as they did last year

He also uses his stats to give Lowe 3 sacks instead of PFF's which gives Lowe 5 sacks.

Went back and looked at some draft scouting reports on Caedan Wallace. All mentioned a potential move to guard, and a few thought his traits played better at guard than RT. Maybe he can battle there with the returnees and be a solid starter.

Also interested in seeing Strange after a full offseason of preparation at Center (I’m assuming that’s where he’s working). Maybe draft Jake Majors in the 4th/5th round to develop.

I like Jake Majors potential. He could be a plug and play Center as a Rookie. I also like Tate Ratledge as an OG (granted, we have plenty of those, though few have impressed so far).

Pats' current WR outlook:

X: Hollins, Baker
Z: Boutte, Bourne
Slot: Douglas, Polk

Tyler Lockett, Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Mike Williams, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Noah Brown, Greg Dortch, DJ Chark potential options.

As it pertains to Shedeur Sanders, Noooooooooo!

I’m not certain Rogers would pull them out of Sanders if they likes him in the first place.

NO ONE believes A rog is anything more than a one year bridge.

Drafting Sanders and sitting him a year could be wise.

See Falcons and Penix.

Of those…I think I’d go Lockette.

Lockett intrigues me as well. I think I'd be looking at Kupp first when he is cut tomorrow, but Lockett is a good secondary option in a similar mold. I kind of like Elijah Moore as well who's still pretty young. Probably want more X depth though also as I doubt you want to play Mack Hollins every snap, and Baker is unproven.

Giants can still very well take a QB
Rodgers is only a 1 year max 2 years player
Wouldn’t be Sanders his attitude with Rodger’s would be nightmare fuel

Come on Pittsburgh.

we would have to trade to 2 for one of Hunter or Carter.

With Vrabels Cleveland’s ties it’s possible.

I might've done next year's 2nd, or this year's 3rd, but not both... He's worth it in a vacuum but Pats need those picks.

Especially since they can get their LT in the draft and 4-5 years at rookie salary.

Well that crew will be scaring the “Bejesus” out of NFL secondary's!!!

Would you rather have Jerry Jeudy or Layden Robinson?
Inexplicably pats refused to trade a fourth rounder for Jeudy.
Another example of absurd overvaluing of day 3 draft pjcks

Yeah. Remember when they traded a second for Sanu. That was a bad deal too. Clearly something to be upset about today.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Was amazing how he turned it around. Good luck to him.
Ryland was in his second year so patience was required. Ryland had a much better leg in college. In a situation like that, the younger player with more raw ability usually sticks, but it was an anti-BB thing like has been noted. Not hindsight - posters noted the mistake when it happened.
