Say we had to play a game right now - I'd love to see Strange move to LT.
He is SO much quicker and athletic than Lowe or Wallace. Ben Brown faired pretty well at Center, curious what he could be with an actual preseason to learn the system. Brown has prototype Center size/makeup, and Strange more of a OT because he is very good 1 on 1 pass blocking.
(I don't think that will happen, but would be interesting to see)
I found it bizarre that some fans think Strange can all of a sudden become our LT when he has been here for 3 years and the coaching staff never once played him at that position. If he was capable of being our LT, they would have played him there because we have a dumpster fire at LT and everybody knows it.

99% of his career in college, Cole Strange played at left guard. He's a career guard at college.
There are plenty of stories of guys who started at tackle in the college level but were forced to move to guard at the pro level but I can't think of any stories that were the inverse.
It just seems very "Strange" to think he suddenly kicks out to left tackle, the most challenging OL position in the NFL, and becomes good overnight.

He has the build and agility for it. He may be the rare player who was athletic enough to play G in college but better suited for tackle in the NFL. Measurables look like Bakhatri actually. 6'5 310 is more tackle than guard in NFL

It would make sense, Vrabel getting his guys and all that. When Belichick was hired he brought in players he coached before: Antonio Langham, Bobby Hamilton, Otis Smith, Jermaine Wiggins, Anthony Pleasant.

Wiggins was a waiver pick-up from the Jets in 2000. That was also Wiggins rookie year. Not sure how that fits the whole "players that Belichick coached before".

Totally agree, I don’t think there’s any thought by the organization to move Strange to LT. I’m pretty sure this rumor came about here on Patsfans because Strange has similar measurables to Matt Light.

I think there is a real possibility that Strange moves to C as that’s where he played to finish out last season and also because of Andrews getting released.

I’m sorry but this is incorrect, Wiggins’ rookie season was 1999. He was on the Jets practice squad in 1999 as an undrafted rookie. He didn’t get into a game until 2000, but technically 1999 was his rookie season, when Belichick was still on the Jets staff. Rookie seasons don’t count in football the way they do in baseball.

Signed as UDFA on April 19, 1999, released on August 23, and placed on practice squad on August 28.

Edit - looking at that 1999 Jets roster I see I forgot to include Fred Coleman. He also brought Chad Cascadden in but he retired during training camp.

Then I stand corrected. Pro-Football-Reference.com did not mention Wiggins having signed with the Jets in 1999.

Patsfans.com really really needs some news to break

Care to think that one over?

You just say things with confidence to try and pass it off as truth don't you?

When I look something up, and trust the source I am confident.

I thought he had a year left. He was a neat story to watch overcome long odds but the change is probably best for both. Good luck to him.

Higgins is officially not an option.

So $120 million a year for burrow and his two wide receivers.

I would have Given Higgins that.
But not much more.

We’re on to something else.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. You wanted to pay Higgins Justin Jefferson money for the last year, now you would only give him 27 a year? If you are going to rewrite history at least give it some time to breath first. Or you can just do what Patsfan2 does and lie about everything you said to begin with.

Ekuale showed well in '23, but offered very little last year. Could be because of the sh*t show of the coaching & team, but I don't think we'll miss him with the new additions.

He can't keep track of half the **** he says.
