One Christmas when I was a kid, I desperately wanted a G.I. Joe aircraft carrier. I don't think I ever wanted a toy as badly as that. Christmas came and went, and I didn't get my aircraft carrier. I was bummed, but being a kid, quickly moved on and had fun playing with what I did get.

Years into adulthood, I made a joke with my parents about how they never got it for me. They then explained the weeks my mom drove all over the area while I was at school trying to find it. She called pretty much every store that might have one. My dad worked late a couple times and drove to a couple places right before closing in hopes they were stocking for the next morning. (This is after working 15+ hour days) My parents even had relatives in the next state over looking for this thing.

Results don't necessarily equal effort.

But this board has taught over the last few days that it's doubtful my parents even tried looking for this toy and more than likely never even loved me.
This is one of the most epic posts of all time.

Kupp was only ever going back home or at least close to it on the west coast
His family and kids live in Oregon. One last payday but be close by family
He also is not worth half of the 15 mil/year he got
DK was not worth a 2nd and he did not want to be here
Tell us some players that were good that we were in on but cheaped out on in the end
This is why I didn't want to play your game I have no interest in your excuses for why we haven't fixed the problem. Like my whining your excuses don't fix the problem either.

Have the Patriots gone home? Or is it possible they're still out looking for somewhere else that has chocolate ice cream?
I will most certainly change my opinion when/if they actually address the gaping holes.

Becton went to the Bolts for 2/20M.

That one stings at the price. It's very affordable and he'd have been a rock for a rookie LT to lean on. We could have done 2/25M and be pretty much done with free agency, addressing LT and WR early in the draft.
Even if they did make an offer, I would guess that he looked at our situation and said they just brought in Moses and the have Owenu, so the positions I play. I think he knows that he is not a LG or LT, so why would he want to come somewhere that he is not set up for success?

Just my guess. We don't know

See how that works? He threw a little money around and got what he wanted.

******** I did. I, along with most everyone I could rope into it, went all over hell and gone wasting God knows how much time and energy in a fruitless pursuit of my goal. THEN I threw beaucoup bucks around to get what MY SONS wanted. All I wanted was that brief moment of satisfaction that came from having succeeded, until the next f'n 'it' thing that their childhoods wouldn't be complete without came along. For that one shining moment I was the perfect consumerist parent of my day, paid double what I should have to do it too.

Lord help me, I almost miss those days

I really wanted one of Fries, Dalman, Becton, Jenkins. Fries and Dalman went for crazy money, and Jenkins is going to get a bag too, but Becton was super affordable for how well he performed.

I wonder if guys like Trystan Colon and Will Hernandez are worth a look at LG in the next wave of FA.
I like Dillon Radunz and Elijah Moore for next wave

If you are going to complain about who we didn’t get, you should be able to list who they are. Otherwise you are just *****ing
I provided a link with a list of all the movement at each position take your pick. I don't care for the back and forth that putting specific names will create. There were multiple options at each position and we didn't get any of it done, going through each name so you can explain why it didn't happen won't make me any happier about the problem and probably more likely would just frustrate me more.

But your whining.
And the game is not close to being over
If we go into the season with this current team then I’m with you

Can we start a gofundme so this guy can get an aircraft carrier?

If only Vrabel had performed as well as you did. Between you, Vrabel and Crazy Patriot Fan's parents you are the winner. I always thought you seemed like a person capable of getting some **** done.

I'm guessing he probably wants a Left Tackle and Wide Receiver or 2 more than that carrier.

To be fair, I am not a crybaby Pats fan, but I also want everything.

I would have loved to see them sign for Ronnie Stanley, or get Cooper Kupp, but reality is that you can’t always get what you want. IMO they have made a really good start on turning this franchise around. Their defense should be considerably better next year. The draft should fix more of their holes, and trades are always a possibility. I believe the people running this team know what they are doing, and they will turn the Patriots into winners. I expect them to be right around .500 next year, and a playoff team in 26. By the halfway mark if the 25’ season we should have a good idea of what kind of team they are building, and what needs to be done to turn them into a true contender.

When halftime started during Superbowl 51 I was whining a little (mostly just silently stunned) but by the time halftime was over I had convinced myself that we might not win but that Brady would make it close. So we'll see how things go as off-season continues.

Guess I missed where Kupp went for twice as much as DK. There you finally got me to
I was interested in Kupp. If we get no one then I would have been happy to over pay for Kupp.
But Kupp is from Washington and played his entire career on the west coast, so that’s a challenge to begin with.

But let’s not kid ourselves about Kupp. He is showing major decline. There was a stat put out this week that he has gone from the top of the list to the bottom of separation.
With his team pushing for a playoff spot in his last 3 regular season games he had 9 targets 4 catches and 53 yards. He had 1 target in the first playoff game.
The Rams didn’t cut him just because of money the eliminated him from the offense.

Sure with what we have at WR I would have liked to take a shot and hope he gets back to his previous level but I’d be an idiot to not see reason to think he’s cooked and a bad choice.
If we get no one we should have spent whatever it took, because he is very likely better than Bourne, Boutte, Polk and baker but let’s not kid ourselves that he is a stud any more.
Of course you can’t force a guy to move across the country either

I didn't even really want Kupp either. I definitely don't want nothing either.

Going into the draft I wanted one side of the ball to be close to a finished product. There are still upgrades needed on defense, I feel confident that this Defense will be able to get the ball back for the O.

I wanted Fries and Dalman badly, but I do not want to see them just throw money at players that play a position that we have a need at. Robinson and Jenkins(who I want) have not been made a priority by anyone else up to this point. That is telling. IMO, Robinson is not much of an upgrade to Lowe, so really not cost effective. Jenkins has durability concerns and is a much better run blocker than pass blocker.

Vrabes and crew has not given us a reason to think that they can't put a football team together. Just relax (HEHE AROD joke there) everyone.

I am sure they have a plan
They have got some talent already and picked up some culture type players (team captains)
The offense side of FA sucked. Most players resigned
There are a bunch of FA’s left and we will sign a bunch more
Most of them probably think they are worth more than what the market says. Hence no other team is signing them also
As time goes on those players will sign for less and we will get some
We will also possibly make a trade and when players get released we will get some more
Just because there is a player out there you make like and your saying pay him what he wants we have the money
That would be foolish. The market says otherwise.
Believe me they are in touch with certain players agents.
When they get a price from another team they call us and we either beat it or drop out
Patience is a virtue here

This is right on the money. When you look at many of the free agents it’s obvious that they thought they would be getting better offers than what teams are willing to pay. It takes time for reality to set in for those players, but ultimately they recognize that they are no longer 20 million $$ per players, and will have to settle for much lower numbers than they had hoped. You also have guys like Jedrick Wills, who came in as a highly touted LT, was drafted in the first round, but has underperformed throughout his career. I’m sure he thinks he’s worth much more than he will get, but like the others will have to settle for a “ prove it” deal, or much less than he had hoped for. The Patriots will sign more guys in free agency, but I’m glad that they aren’t jumping to overpay these guys, as most aren’t worth what they expected to get.

Kupp isn't worth 7.5M yet DK is worth 30M? Lmfao
