Kupp played 11 and 12 games the last 2 years and got about 750 yards per year. So he averages a 1K yard season. Given that, in the absolute best care for a fully healthy year, he could play up to a 15M contract. But how long can he sustain that? Even if he somehow stays healthy the decline will start next year at the latest, and you know he wants a 4 year contract. as this will be his last big one. Even if he only plays 2 years of it... he wants that guaranteed cash and some dead cap in the 3rd year to make him harder to cut.
I seriously doubt he expects a 4 year contract and if he gets it those are just dummy years to spread the cap out.
He isn’t Megatron at this point but he’s better than what we have which looks more like the garbage can with Brandon LaFells jersey on it from 2015.
What good is the money if we aren’t using it to get better players than we have?

Still having >$100M in cap space feels kinda messed up

Damn you Kupp

Kupp 2024 rec 67 yds 710
Boutte 2024 rec 43 yds589

Kupp on a contender, Puka on the other side with a Hall of Fame QB
Boutte with Brissett, a rookie QB, and an OL that doesn't allow much time for a play to develop.

I don’t disagree, but the comparisons to Lowe last year fail to note that for the years before that, Robinson was much better. Why did he have an off year? Is he done or was he recovering from injury? There are a lot of questions there that need to be answered. But the upside is much higher than with Lowe and gives us a little stability going into the draft.
And costs a lot of money.

K Boutte needs a legit #2WR on our Roster to make him shine. One that draws the better coverage.

So we just sit on say 80 million in cap space to go into the draft?
I think they'll bring in a vet, but I don't think they are going to over pay, pay a toll, suck tax, or any other BS you want them to so badly for some other team's baggage. MV was very telling in the presser yesterday. Go back and watch it. They are working it, but they want the right guys, not some me-first asshat.

Agree. They aren't done by any stretch.

They very well might go into the draft with the cap space as a) they can swing a trade for a player just before or on draft day or b) they swing a trade/sign players after the draft who have been replaced by a rookie.
