"A little work" is putting it gently, sure. But I am optimistic about it.
Ok, now I'm curious, what gives you optimism, from what you saw today? Other than Cole Strange coming back, and helping some, eventually. Because not only was LT a dumpster fire, so were both of the guards, and even David Andrews had a bad day in pass protection.

I say this, and all credit needs to go to Stevenson, Brissett and AVP who were all on top of their games to make it work today. Tight ends had a pretty decent day overall too, i'd say.

1 - Continued improvement as they get comfortable with the scheme and one another
2 - Lowe getting healthy hopefully improves his play some
3 - Robinson will get better, he's a rookie
4 - Jordan is the 3rd string guard, Sow is better and then they have Strange coming back too
5 - The Bengals pass rush is actually pretty good, not an easy test

Because it's all slightly better than we expected and D/ST held their own, which is a remarkable considering how bad ST was last year. If the expectations are in check, it was a good showing today and we got a sense of how Mayo is running this team.

And woof at your prediction lmao.

We weren't talking about the defense and special teams. Both of which were fantastic today, and way above expectations. Being able to run the ball against very loaded boxes in the 2nd half was also impressive.

We were talking, exclusively about pass protection, making everything you said completely pointless. So, good job outta you.

Nice try. Your post was speculative born from displeasure.

You want them to have the number 1 pick.

Don't worry....They can lose their next 16 games.

Wait. Did you think that I thought this was a good team?

I'm curious how you derived that from anything I said.

good win. We always go as the offensive line goes. Jacoby is a bit slow and i am not sure they trusted him to throw outside the numbers. He tried a couple and telegraphed those throws. Look forward to Maye starting but i would not unless merited to be honest. Jacoby managed that game well and the play calling was on point. Stevenson is a beast man. Just a beast, and with great feet.

Oh my god. He showed a study of 37 year olds BECAUSE Brady was 37.

I'll say it again: according to Kraft, he showed them this study WHEN they drafted Garoppolo.

This is called good planning.

WHat he didn't do is show Kraft a study of Brady declining.

I'm not sure why I had to write this 3 times as the distinctions should be self-evident.
Brady f'd the whole plan up by remaining at the top of his game for so long. What he did at the end of his career is mind boggling. Human nature being what it is, drafting Jimmy G provided additional motivation. That doesn't explain how Brady was able to maintain his physical tools. He was one player that BB should have given the benefit of the doubt. One year too late would have been better than Cam.

One thing that I really liked was they had so few penalties. Ga.e 1 on the road, not a lot of mistakes. How many dumb mistakes did we see in the last 3 years?
Yep, tons of credit to the coaching staff and players for that. Limiting penalties and mistakes was incredibly important.

Just a PSA - the Patriots are actually, currently, the #1 seed in the AFC due to being 1-0, the win being against another AFC team, and then also having the highest strength-of-victory out of all teams who are also 1-0 in the AFC.

Edit: Nevermind... the data I was looking at hadn't updated fully. I think the #1 seed is actually the Chargers because they won by more, but the Pats would be the #2 seed.

Back on top baby!

I think it was a done deal long before then. Let's face it.

He was down in Miami trying to join Miami BEFORE that 2019 season started. The break was over Guerrero in 2017.

That was where the 2 split.

Who knows our conservative game plan can work in the first 4 weeks when better teams try to shake off rust and commit too many mistakes / turnovers. Can we dream of 2-2 or 3-1 before maye starts over.
If the team is 2-2 or 3-1, that means J.B. is playing decently.

Why pull him?

Yea RK gets too emotionally invested in the people and I think it interfered with BBs ability to make certain decisions. Having said that I still felt like it was time for BB to go.
Alex Van Pelt gets fired from Cleveland because ownership doesn’t like that Watson isn’t doing well, despite his winning with multiple QBs last year.

Week 1, he wins on the road using a BB / Bill Parcells offensive blueprint with a mediocre QB and offensive line. Cleveland’s getting whooped, 10 points on offense, playing at home.

Moral of the story? While we don’t know how Van Pelt will ultimately fare long term, we do know that the Browns are going to Brown.
Dear Cleveland Browns Ownership,

Respectfully, Suck my ****

yours truly
AVP
