The worst thing to happen to a franchise is when the fans lose hope. When that happens they stop buying tickets and merchandise. They are fearful that if they play Maye and he looks bad the fans will stop shelling out $

He will probably look bad due to complete lack of talent around him

I give Jacoby credit for being tough behind a horrible offensive line. But he is making matters worse with slow decision making and conservative throws and is absolutely leaving plays on the field. Maye is a football player. He’s going to get hit. But he absolutely should be able to make more plays in this offense.

The disaster for this front office is if Maye plays and looks bad. That's why they are sitting him.

But as Scarnecchia said, they *have* to play Maye enough to know what they have in him. They can't go into next year's draft with a top pick and not know what they have in Maye.
That guy was an awesome coach for so many years...

Opponents' fans will fill in the gaps and drink more concessions beer rather than be accosted by Chowdahs in the tailgate lots.

Bigger issue is less sponsorship $$$$

Terrible coaching won't help either

From 2020-2023, we had 4 QB'S. How does Brissette stack up? Which would you rather have starting instead of Brissett.

They aren't worried about Maye looking bad, they are worried about him developing some bad habits that he his starting to get rid of in practice. Thats just smart business for a QB that was as raw as he was in some ways. They are playing this perfectly.

Maye was the pick. Mayo's call. They didn't draft a left Tackle. Mayo's call. There rookies are not producing yet, Mayo's choices. 14 more games to go. Soft team, lots of injuries. Mayo pay's Ramondre a long term contract, Mayo's evaluation.

You're acting like the Pats don't have a GM.

AVP and Mayo were able to make me dislike Brissett! I didn’t think it was possible
Welcome to my world seems like a nice guy but terrible Football player..

How the front office has addressed the tackles position the last two years is the main culprit for the Pats looking like the worst team in the league. Their tackle additions this offseason were Okafor and Wallace. Okafor was supposed to be the free agent solution at left tackle, then he somehow wasn’t good enough to play on a team with the worst tackles in the league. They thought they could bargain basement shop at an extremely important position and are paying for it. Yes, they would have needed to overpay to bring in a startable tackle the last two years but it’s not like their hurting for cap space.

The defense really misses Barmore and Judon but it has been good enough through 4 games. The offense simply has not and imo that’s because of the front office.
The tackles available in FA were either busts or useless. No one has panned out from last year. The two biggest buys were busts.

And those teams are the hook for incredible amounts.

Trent Brown was considered the best OT in the market this past free agency.

Last year, we complained the Patriots didn't take Broderick Jones or Dawand Jones. Both of these players are sitting the bench and hardly play now; and when they have (for instance Dawand) they've played worse than Vederian Lowe.

About the only argument we can really make is that they should have traded up from Wallace's spot to take Patrick Paul or Kingsley Sumataia, or dropped back from the Polk pick and taken one of those two.

I'm not in or out on Mayo yet, but I will say this: he's being saddled with a ******** job alongside his HC duties.

Mayo is being tasked to reinvent the Patriots public image for Kraft, as well. He has to talk to the press and give them more answers. He is being tasked with this in the most frustrating stage of team building.

I don't see why we saddle him with both. Let that dipshit Wolf be your brand ambassador. Mayo is kinda boring, nothing even special in those pressers, let him just focus on being a HC.

Head coaches are contractually obligated to talk to the press. Do you think BB would have done any pressers at all if that wasn't required of him in his contract?
