DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION OFFICIAL 2023 Patriots Draft Day Discussion: Round 2/3

The Patriots continue to stack up players with great size and athleticism.

Keion White is 6'5 285, explosive athlete, 9.91 RAS. Can play all along the defensive line and get after the QB. Long 34" arms. There's really a lot to like here. This Patriots defense is looking potentially nasty for 2023 and beyond.
For me the excitement is that at 285 and the term EXPLOSIVE, I can see him being used a lot as an inside pass rushing specialist along side of Barmore. NOTHING disrupts an NFL passing attack more than inside pressure. Also, one of the reasons the Pats had a lot of pass rushing success last season was not so much blitzing, but rather their astute maneuvering of their 4 main rushers with stems and stunts (which now that I think on it, are pretty much the same thing).

Again the key will be him finding consistency

Now Nike is drinking vodka and orange juice.

Jayden Reed is a really good football player. Nice pick.

Fire away but the fact is, defense wasn’t the issue last year, not even close. seriously man, this isn’t even an argument. Continue to ignore the offensive talent on the roster now, not to mention the damage created by the clown show coaches, and youre putting your head in the sand.
I’m sorry you don’t have the attention span to sit through an entire draft. Dunno what else to tell you.

edge: judon, uche, wise
interior dl: barmore, white

insane pass rush rotation that’s up there with the eagles & 49ers. Groh is cooking with high upside elite athletes so far. Get an OT & this draft is a homerun IMO.

Where was White projected to go?
I just grabbed a random mock & they had him at #59.

Glad to hear some people are happy,
Last thing we need is another Ron Brace in
Round #2
CBS had him ranked 42. He was top of NFL Networks best player available list last night.

I'm really worried about our offensive line, but there's was nothing to do here, so one way to help the offense is to have a great defense.

Should've addressed that in the free agency but they slept at the bus stop and the Broncos went all in OL to help Wilson.

I do, trying to watch the Bruins game too Though. if you’re cool with the current offense, cheers man. Lets talk when the season starts.

Agreed. We want athletes. High RAS scores. Complete change from 5 years ago. BPA leads to long term success. Great pick.

Opposite of Brian Branch. Top athlete. Don't need slow guys.
I am loving the change in direction we've had ever since Groh and co. have been at the top. It still feels like Bill type picks but with an emphasis on athleticism... So far, feels pretty damn good...

Thoughts on the Michigan TE, Schoonmaker ?? Might be spelling it wrong. Saw some highlights that looked very good

Ron Brace, RIP, was a tub of good selected as Wilfork insurance. White is . . . Not that.

He's solid. The thing is that even though there was a "run on TEs", this draft is stupid deep with TEs so there's still a lot of good ones.

Stevie needs a HC job.

lol i did actually think about that in my head, but hey if we can win games 3-0 i dont care

would really like to see an OT

Yep, but why waste them on defensive talent early when the obvious need is on offense? Please enlighten me
Please stop posting before you embarrass yourself even more. Drafting a talented edge is never, ever a wasted pick. Plus, Judon is going to be 31 and Uche is entering his final year and has had trouble staying healthy, until last year.

You must’ve missed the memo that this is one of the deepest tight end drafts over the last decade, and is also very deep at wide receiver.
