The Patriots might have to move up to get Freeland. He's one of the few high ranked prospects left who could potentially play left tackle.

Maybe the Pats are waiting till round 4 to get a WR, but if they move back into round 3, they could get someone decent.

I am loving the change in direction we've had ever since Groh and co. have been at the top. It still feels like Bill type picks but with an emphasis on athleticism... So far, feels pretty damn good...

I don't think it's just Groh. There's been a marked change in the entire Scouting Staff. Still waiting to see if they can find a WR Whisperer (LOL).. but otherwise, they seem to be hitting more.

You must’ve missed the memo that this is one of the deepest tight end drafts over the last decade, and is also very deep at wide receiver.

I get the feeling they're happy with their tackles tbh. They might feel like the guys they draft at this point don't have a high likelihood to be better than what's already on the roster so may as well draft players at positions that are deeper (TE, WR, etc).

Or to give Mac no help so he looks bad in 2023. That way BB can justify going for a new QB in 2024. BB playing 4D chess. Kraft openly wanted to keep Mac this year so BB couldn't make his play yet.

I think Mac and Belichick’s futures are tied together. Belichick could convince Kraft that Mac was a bad pick and Kraft will need to look for a new QB along with a new head coach. If either guys fail this season, both guys could be gone.

Don’t think Kraft doesn’t see that so-so QBs like Tua and Hurts end up getting elite talent around them and they turn into top QBs.

Yeah that's why I said "Groh and co." meaning the whole staff. Eliot Wolf is a big part of that too being head of scouting. The funny thing is that their scouting department got absolutely ravaged by the departures of Caserio and Ziegler in recent years, but it kinda feels like they're... better for it?
